Default Bingo with the Babes: February 23rd

Our Babes are full of inspiration for this month's challenges and have been hard at work creating lots of eye candy for you this week!

Check out what they've been up to below and share what you're working on too.

Which of this month's challenges are you struggling with the most?

Robin

This week I chose challenge #2 - blend a photo into your background. I love the look of blended photos on pages - they always look so soft and pretty! And since I'm not a big fan of how I look in pictures, it's pretty much the perfect way to scrap a page about myself without cringing at the photo!!

I used number 4 - used multiple talk bubbles. My son has recently been "making the sounds" for his stuffed best friend, Rupert, when he is "sleeping." Even if J isn't in the same room, if you ask where is Rupert, J will say, "he is sleeping... snort... z, z, z, z... sigh." I wanted to capture this little bit of everyday and when Ana's kit came out this week - it was perfect!!

Number 3 - White Space

I snapped this photo with my phone on my morning walk. I usually drop the kids off at school and then head to our local walk track which is around a small lake/pond. It was a beautiful morning that day. White space layouts are usually tricky for me. I tend to fill up the page because I like to use almost everything in a kit. So with this one I tried very hard to minimize everything..smaller elements and simpler design.

#7 Black and White Photos
Sometimes when the colors in my photos just don't go with the kit I want to use I like to use black and white photos to neutralize the page. Also I love the way it gave this a newspaper or yearbook like look with the template!

# 13 : Splat! Splash! Sprinkle! Blob! I have a huge love of paints and brushes and really enjoy getting my digital hands dirty composing my own background/paper with them. Nothing beats layering them up, cutting them apart and playing with all editing tools to create a terrific art journal feel. FunFunFun Stuffs!

I chose [13] Splat! Splash! Sprinkle! Blob! Lately, I have been using more white/solid backgrounds and have wanted to use more paint and splatters. I like to put them around the edges and just have them peeking out a bit to add a little more color to my page.

I chose #3 White Space. I love white space layouts. I love that they draw your eye to a specific spot. A good white space layout should have lots of extra space around a specific cluster.

#10 - Scrap a shadow... I took this photo for this prompt! We were on vacation with my parents... the lighting was harsh, but I still wanted a "group" shot... so thought of this challenge and it was perfect! My mom asked that we all touch our horoscope sign and make a little wish for good luck!

#21 - On the edge

I love Erica's stitched edges, so for this challenge, I scrapped a lyric and place my biggest flower cluster on the far edge of the page. I also placed Erica's stitched edges on both sides of the page:

#21 - On the Edge

I am a very dimensional scrapper and I love to ground my clusters by attaching them to the edges of the page. For this page, I grounded the three main clusters of elements to different edges, creating a visual triangle of elements.

#8 - the quieter you become.

When I sat down and thought of what little moments come to mind when all is quiet, this is what resulted:

I am struggling with the Opposites Attract one. I posted a thread looking for inspiration before, but it was during the forum glitch and I only got to see a few of the responses before it disappeared.

This is the page I just finished. It is for the black and white photo challenge. I have a hard time making my photos black and white because I love color so much. I came across the ultrasound picture for my first son and decided I would scrap his story.

Here's my layout for challenge #7. The Atomic Gumball pieces of the SSD Sundae Bar were vibrant and bright (just like my daughter!) that going black and white in the photo seemed to be appropriate.

I also tackled challenge #1 with "adore" for this cute pic of my oldest and her kitty. The cat adores J and only J (seriously, she has issues) and J adores her Maggie McButterpants.

Here are a few from me

He Said She Said - documenting some of the pet names my DH and I have for our daughter

Scrap your shadow - it's actually a picture of my real shadow, and my figurative one, since my daughter is attached to my hip (literally!) whenever I'm home from work!

Here is my 20 questions layout... it is definitely more of 'in the spirit of'. I started thinking of 20 questions to ask myself - then came to 20 random facts, which then came to word strips and on and on... so now I have this...

I know there is one not shadowed. Drives me crazy because I don't save my layered files so now I need to find that strip again, put it over the top, shadow it and move on, I guess. LOL I wish I could remember what kit that was from. I looked at a million while I did this.

The toughest one for me to date... I think it is because of my paper scrapping background.... yet I did print a photo onto cardstock a time or two. Hmm.. not sure why this one is so hard for me.

Here's 2 from me this week!

Quieter You Become: The best part about this one, is that I read the challenge to my son and asked him what he would like in his photobook that fit. He suggested reading his Bible and he helped me set up this picture. Made me so happy.

White Space: I really wanted to sprinkle white fluff all over my page, but decided in the end that white buttons would work!

I picked 21 - On the edge. I focused most of my embellishments on one side with my photo to make it stand out more against a dark background paper.

Get Griddy With It I absolutely LOVE this layout I made for this challenge! I decided I do a grid background with the squares and stitching. While PS didn't necessarily like the file size - I got it to work! And I was inspired by Lynnette to do a January faves list! Now I just need to work on my February one...

I did No. 3 - White Space.

I chose to do this one because white space and I don't really get along. I love really full pages. Having blank background space really is hard for me...so I took this challenge. This layout really is a ton of white space for me!
