Default Creative Teams...?

I've been curious about this for awhile, never bothered asking I seem to be clearing my *shy* stage so well I wanna know, so I'm gonna ask! Ha.

-How do you get on a creative team? Just apply when a "casting call" is held, right?
-Where are casting calls announced typically?
-Does how many galleries you have at different sites affect the decision?
-What do designers mainly look for when choosing new members?

If you can't tell already, I am not an active member of a CT. Just wondering what I could do ahead of time to be prepared if one of the designers I love pops up with a casting call

(feel free to point me to another post if this has already been discussed, I searched but maybe not well enough lol)

I used to be on CT's. Most designers have actual calls, or applications you can submit anytime for them to keep on file if they ever need a guest or a quick fill. Sometimes, if it's a designer you just really love, you can just ask if you can join Just all depends! And all designers have different requirements too! Haha!

Krystal is another designer who went to a lot of trouble explaining what she looks for in a CT member before her last call.

Sure thing. I think a lot of designers check out their individual galleries when they are looking for guests but do not want to go through a call, so make sure you are adding your layouts to their galleries so they can see you using their stuff.

One of the best pieces of advice is to make sure that load your layouts into the designers gallery... in the past I have had a few designers ask me to join their team after they saw my pages with their kits in their gallery.

I typically waited for a call... and if I got my nerve up, I did drop them an email asking if they had a call coming and that I was interested. The calls are typically announced on their facebook, newsletters, right here in the forums...

I'm sure each designer is different... however, I don't think the quantity of galleries is as important at quality of your layouts in that gallery... if you get on the team, they have their requirements as to which/ or how many galleries they would like you to load to.

Oh ok, I'll def do the adding to their galleries thing. I haven't joined any other forums simply because I haven't had the need to. Well - I did a couple years ago but never got into it. I'd of course be happy to join other sites if it was a requirement - just don't have the need to now. I am curious - are there any sites that I can add my layouts to that don't require to use the designs of that site? Sort of a neutral layout ground?

I have a bunch of layouts finished, need to get my butt in gear and add them here lol!

I have been approached to be on teams, simply asked the designer (the worst they can say is no, not rght now) and applied to teams. Gotten lots of no's and yes's...you just have to be willing to put yourself out there. And if you get a no apply again on the next call. Most designers have at least one a year although ocasionally that is more often or less often.

There are a number of open galleries out there... some have different requirements if you can link out to a store, or not... but they do not have rules around type of products...

My Scrapbook Art
Digi Shop Talk
Digi Scrap Addicts
Log Your Memory
Scrapbook.com
Creating Keepsakes
Two Peas in a Bucket
Split Coast Stampers (they have a digi layout area)
Design House Digital
The Digi Chick
scrapbook bytes (I think, it's been a few months since I've been there)

I'm sure there are others.... haha

and of course Scrap Stacks, Pinterest, and Facebook digi groups are also popular to post too...
