Default What Program do you use ...

... to create/design your lo's? I am curious to know who uses CS2 or above, or if you use Elements or some other program.

What do you like or dislike about the program you use? Why did you choose the program that you are currently using?

Thanks in advance for your input/advice!

I use CS2, I bought it when it first came out. I've resisted upgrading because I know I'm getting a Mac eventually and will need to upgrade for it anyway...

I started out though with PSE, then PSE2, then PSE3 before I upgraded to CS. I upgraded because I was starting to design and PSE wasn't able to do what I wanted. It was a bit of a leap, but I managed it OK, lol.

I use PSP 11. I dont really have any dislikes with it. When I first got it it would take forever to start but then someone told me how to get it to start faster and I love it. It is really easy to use...I taught myself everything within a few weeks (although I do still learn new things on it occasionally!!)

I've used PSE3 for about 4 years and I love!!! I just recently got PSE6 (with my Bamboo fun tablet) but I'm not installing it until I have to (meaning until I get a new computer taht only has Vista). I love PSE3 and have zero complaints about it!!!!

I used PSE4 forever. But I couldn't do text on a path and a lot of actions did not work. So I took the plunge about 2 weeks ago and bought CS4. I enjoy the drop shadows in CS4. They are customizable. I haven't even tried to figure out where my actions are. And I haven't done a text on a path yet. Maybe when I have 5 minutes of peace I will try something new.

I use CS3. I LOVE it. Best purchase I ever made. I bought it mainly to use actions and for working with my shadows better.

I use Photoshop CS. I also got Elements 4 or 5 as a present, but I rarely use it. It's not even installed on my laptop, only the desktop

I use PSP X2. I also have PSE, but since I know PSP so well, I hate to learn how to do things in PSE, it just ends up frustrating me.

I use PSE 7 on my desktop, PSE 5 on laptop. I've got CS3 on the laptop as well, but I don't use it as often...I don't like not having a photo bin at the bottom.

I have also heard that people don't want to leave elements because of its organizational abilities

You can get the upgrade price from PSE to CS. Unfortunately, it's $600. Academic pricing is an option if you or the man are taking classes since Hayden's too young to be in school yet. You just need to prove that you're a student.

Looks like I'm going to be the dinosaur of the group I still use Microsoft Digital Image Suite. It's old, I know. It's what I learned on, so it's super easy for me.

I have PSE7 but have yet to figure out how to use it One day I'll venture into this century, but by that time, you all will be using even more advanced programs!

I'm sure my layouts will improve greatly once I learn the elements and do the switcheroo.

I do things much harder than I probably have to. I use PSP8 to actually create the layouts, but I use both PSPX2 and CS4 to edit my photos. CS4 is so daunting - I really only use it to run actions. I really should take the time to actually learn the programs that I have instead of sticking with what I know (PSP8). Hard to break old habits, though! I have PSP8 tweaked just the way I want it and I know where everything is so it's just much faster for me to use it.

You forgot us PSPers :-( I use PSP8, I've had it for... about 6 yrs now and I love it. It was what I could afford at the time and would like to upgrade to the new PSP X2 next time I've got some money to spend (though hanging out here makes it hard... lol).

I use CS4. I used CS2 for several years and got the upgrade for Christmas. I was having some bugs with CS2 that kept popping up over and over, and I had been wanting the upgrade anyway, so I just went ahead and did it. I love it!

I use CS2 and really have no desire or need to upgrade, since it does everything I'd ever need to do. My only complaint is that when I installed it on this computer, it went a little wonky with Vista. It ran better with XP, at least for me.

I use a mix between CS4 and Elements 6. I love CS4 for shadows, gradients, and more, but to me Elements 6 is quicker (and I do love the dark background that most people hate!)....I usually use Elements to do my extractions for the products I sell at my shop, though- as I do mine by hand (not the extraction tool thingy that's in CS4- I haven't even tried to use it!) But in my opinion, Elements is quicker- if I try to extract in my CS4, for some reason I just can't do it and I mess up, even using the same ((secret)) technique of mine! LOL! Strange how a cheap program works better for me than a more expensive one! hehehe!

I use PSPX2. I've been with PSP since 5. I wish it did clipping masks like PS but I don't miss that enough to switch. I suspect that will turn up as a feature in the next release,

I use PSP X2. I've always been a PSP girl and started out on version 8 back in the day lol. I love it, it's just what I know. I used to not like it so much that you could never find photo scripts for PSP like you can actions for PSE but over the years I've learned a lot about self-editing my photos so I usually just do that now anyway. I've use v. 8,9,10 and now X2 and by far X2 is my favorite.

I use PhotoImpact X3 and love it. A lot more people used PI when I started, 5 years ago. I tried switching to PSE once or twice, but it was too frustrating to relearn and the shadow and action limitations would annoy me. CS anything is way to $$ for me, so I'll be sticking to PI for a long time to come!

I use PSP X2 and have been a PSP addict since the old Jasc days going all the way back to v.4!! It does give me fits occasionally, such as freezing and hanging, but I hang in and persevere, lol!

Thank you Nikki for the link to the script...I can't wait to try it out!
