Default Sesame Street

As a child of the 70's and early 80's, I grew up on Sesame Street. Since DS was tiny I've tried to get him interested in the new shows on PBS...for a while around the age of 1 he loved Elmo (which I hated lol) but other than that I've not been able to get him to watch it much...he just loses interest in it. But yesterday I put on my Sesame Street Old School DVDs and he has watched every episode on those discs! Like...not moving completely enthralled with it which is not how he usually watches anything. You just can't beat classic Sesame Street.

I love old school Sesame Street...in fact my baby book is Sesame Street.
I'm an mid-80s child (1985) so I love all the old school shows and toys.

You're though you just can't beat classic Seasame Street.

all my babies watched Sesame Street! I have some old school VHS tapes from when Cody was little that Quinten loves to watch! And after watching them off and on for 13 years, I have them mostly memorized! hehehe

Seeing as how I worked for PBS for 8+ years... I was just a given that Paige would watch Sesame Street... She wasn't into it for a while (which I blame on a very traumatic "Tickle-Me-Elmo" experience when she was too young for it... thanks to her great-grandfather who insisted on getting it for her) - UGH...

Anyhoo, she loves it now (started loving it at about age 2)! And loves singing that dang Elmo Song... La La La La... AAAAAHHHH!

Even though she loves Elmo now, she still stays away from the T-M-Elmo! Kind of funny, actually!

Rachel hasn't gotten into Sesame Street...she likes Elmo, but if he's not on, forget about it.
I never was a huge fan either...I was an Electric Company girl (remember the Adventures of LetterMan? and I don't mean David LOL)

I was a total Sesame Street fan too. My oldest loves anything "old school." Especially the older Disney movies.

I loved Sesame Street, but my son has no interest in it either. He likes Elmo well enough, but only because he is the favorite character of one of the girls at day care.

My son (3 years) is just starting to get into Sesame Street. He's loved Elmo forever, but now that he's learning to count higher and knows almost all of the alphabet, he's really getting into it! I think it's because he loves to practice along with them!

I personally can't stand Sesame Street- I do love the learning aspect, but the clothes & urban in the 80's... drives me nuts! LOL! But since he loves it, I put up with it! heheh!

I have always loved Sesame Street and always will. I've not seen the new stuff, it's the old school Sesame Street that I know. Laugh if you will, but I was probably 14 when the show began. It came on at 4 pm. My two gf's and I would hurry home to come watch it just because it was so cute, lol.

I loved it when I was a kid -- especially the "nine coconut custard pies" baker who always fell down the stairs with all the pies.

I pulled up the classic 'C is for Cookie' on YouTube for my 20 month old to watch, and he was entranced!

I turned on the 'current' Sesame Street one day last week to watch a little of it with him and caught 'Law and Order - Special Letters Unit'. It was a take on SVU with the black screen, sound effects, and muppet actors that looked just like the "real" detectives. It was cracking me up. Seriously, I hope there aren't any pre-schoolers who have ever seen SVU, so they are totally throwing some stuff in there for the moms who are watching too!
