Default so I send my husband to the grocery store...

for two pounds of hamburger and I happen to look online before he gets home and see he spent 40 dollars!! Im like what the heck?? He gets home and had bought nearly 4 pounds of hamburger...plus pork chops, pumpkin pie, whipped cream, crackers and two yogurt smoothies LOL. Guess I know better then to send him next time LOL. Granted he got a good deal on the pork chops...they were buy one get one free so he bought two meals worth for less then 10 dollars. Thats not so bad

Mine gets what's on the note, nothing else, though sometimes he'll pick me up some ice cream or something. He's awesome like that! LOL

Sounds like when I send my DH to the store for milk or bread or something! Except he comes home with pop, Doritos, Oreo cookies etc!

My husband does almost all of our grocery shopping and comes home with lots of yummy stuff.

Sounds like your man got some good stuff. The only thing would've made it better is if he'd come home with pop tarts.

My DH does this too.

ugh, pop tarts. i've only recently started to eat them again. back story: My senior year of high school we took our Senior Trip to New York city. we bunked together like 4 to a suite. We were to each bring some snacks and i decided on some pop tarts. And...so did my 3 friends, lol. we had a cabinet full of pop tarts! we were so sick of them, it became an inside joke, lol.

i wish i could go to NY again.

LOL, my hubby does this too! Last weekend I had company and sent DH to the store for a pumpkin crunch pie, and he came home with 3 bags of groceries, lol! Oh well! It was good stuff, so I couldn't complain (except the bottle of Coke which sat in the fridge taunting me, lol)!

Mine is a pretty good grocery shopper-we alternate weeks, and he always spends less than I do. Of course, when he goes we always seem to run out of things halfway through the week because he gets what's on the list and nothing else. I'm a terrible list maker, and I always forget things or underestimate how fast we'll go through things. Somehow that never happens when I shop, only when I make the list!

yea that reminds me of a fund raiser in elementary school that I was in. We had to make popcorn and they were sold in the school for like a dollar or two a bag. Well we had a big popcorn machine and spent the whole day bagging popcorn. We werent supposed to eat any of it but we must have each eaten like 3 or 4 pounds of popcorn LOL. I couldnt even look at popcorn for like five years because of this.

Same thing with pizza....my daughter worked at Dominos and pizza WAS my favorite food. We usually had pizza one night on weekend nights but now I can barely stomach a slice because she would bring pizza home all the time.

Mine spent so many months taking care of me when I was on bedrest that it's hard to get him to let me do the shopping now.
and he ALWAYS comes back with ice cream!! GRAH (he knows I'm trying to lose a little of this baby weight, and he knows I have a MAJOR sweet tooth)
AND I always send him with a ton of coupons and he always always always forgets to use them.

It sounds yummy to me! Although if there wasn't room in the checking account I might have freaked out a bit! Hee hee! How sweet of him to think of treats for you!

*lol* BTDT.

I did the grocery shopping this afternoon while FI was finishing up a paper and picking his son up for school. He had made a list of what he wanted me to get as he will have his son all week long, but it's the most random list ever. It's all the things he usually eats, but none of them actually make complete meals. I did my best to keep to the list while supplementing a few things so that I/he would not have to run out later this week to buy things.

Although I don't really like grocery shopping, I would MUCH rather go by myself than with him as he is such a browser. It drives me insane. Every decision is 5 minutes of life or death: ground round or chuck, type of lunchmeat, french style or regular green beans. Seriously. I just want to go in and get out with the food I need, a completed task, and he is all abt making it into an adventure.

I can't even remember the last time my DH went grocery shopping...

Oh yeah, wait. He went with me last week for the first time in YEARS!!! I was so proud of him. He didn't try to put one thing in the cart that wasn't on my list...

Even before I had my c-sections I stocked up so he wouldn't have to go since I couldn't drive for 2 weeks. Although he did end up having to take me once with Derrick but my mom went for me when I had Rhett.

Jeff's not allowed in walmart unsupervised. I sent him to the store once for milk and diapers, and he spent like $80 on crap. Never again. LOL

LOL I send DH to do grocery shopping with a list every week (grocery shopping is his thing) and I know without a doubt that when he gets back there will be something extra in the bags and that he will have forgotten something! LOL

LOL! There are two times when DH went grocery shopping, both after the baby births. He has gone with me a few times and I soooo hate it. When he went after I had the boys I had to make a list in the order the isles went in the stores, talk about hard. Granted there were no extra goodies but still! Then if he goes with me he's always in one isle with the cart while I'm in another with no where to put the stuff I've got in my hands! LOL! And if I do send him to stop for milk or something, he goes to the convenience store and usually just grabs beer for himself so I'm good with that since I hate beer.
