Can you guys keep my dad in your prayers and thoughts?

A little history: When I was in high school my dad blacked out in the shower. We found out he had Atrial Fibrillation. He was shocked several times or whatever you call it, to reset his heart rhythms.

Almost 2 years ago (2 years next week!) he had a stroke. He was down for the count, but he made an almost full recovery. About 2 weeks after his stroke, the medical community released a statement that there seemed to be a link between A-Fib and strokes (unrelated to his case, but it sucks they didn't catch the link sooner).

Today, we were in church, and he was handing out bulletins. He passed out, fell flat on his face. They're doing scans now to make sure because of the blood thinners he's on that he didn't bruise his brain or anything, and they found out he is back in A-Fib, which means he's at higher risk of another stroke, and that he could have some issues with his heart. They have to try to get his heart back into rhythm by shocking him in the morning, and if that doesn't work, they'll have to go in and do a heart ablation.

If that doesn't work, he may not be able to go back to work. He'll have to take a medical retirement, which means half of the retirement he's paid in for... he's stressing out (worried about providing for all of us), and we're stressing out (worried about his health, and afraid he'll have another stroke).

Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers that he gets back into rhythm and that he doesn't have another stroke!

Thanks, everyone. They're keeping him overnight, but I just found out they were able to get him back into rhythm. They are adjusting his medications to hopefully prevent strokes, but it doesn't look like he bruised his brain. Mom just got home from the hospital and says things look like they'll be alright, but he may have to go back in for some med tweaks over the next few months.

I'm glad things are looking better now. I hope they're able to tweak and medicate as needed to keep him healthy!
