I try and write these prompts with broad themes/concepts in mind and think that personal interpretation is key. You can certainly approach a prompt literally, or I encourage you to think about it in a different way ... take a creative approach on ways to apply prompts so that they'll work for your family. Here's a bit of extra information on a few of this month's challenges to help you get started :

#3: Rainy Days and Mondays...
This one could be interpreted in several different ways...
You could scrap about rainy days... gloomy days that get you down... the beauty of renewal and growth that rain brings... how rainstorms make you feel, or what you might do as a family on rainy/dreary days. You could also scrap about your schedule on Mondays... how you start off the week... your contempt for Mondays...

#5: Photography Challenge: Splash / Puddles...
Scrap about splashing in the bath, making a splash in a body of water, splashing about in rain puddles. Or Umbrellas and galoshes! You could also feature the after photos of playing in puddles. What about mud puddles!

#8: National Library Week...
Scrap about a trip to the library, or story time, or independent reading. Scrap about a favorite book, author, or series. Scrap about what everyone is currently reading. Activities you participate in at your local/school library. Meet the Author visits!

#9: Participate in the SSD Blog Scraplift posted on April 1st...
On the first Sunday of each month, Sugarbabe Kim B. hosts a Scraplift challenge on the SSD Blog.
You have the entire month to play along and complete your page.

#11: Pay it Forward - Leave Love on 15 Gallery Pages...
You leave love on 15 layouts in the gallery and then post the link to each in your tracker thread.
Use the place marker below to "hold" that spot on your card ♥
First, click on the image below ... then right click that image and save as a .png file.

#13: Contribute...
Scrap about how you or your family contributes to your community, or a cause that is meaningful, or an event/activity/group that you're a patron of. You could also scrap about how each family member contributes to your household or how someones contributions into a relationship help it to grow. There are so many ways this prompt could be interpreted and look forward to seeing your take on it.

#14: Make Yourself a Priority...
This could be a page about how everyone needs a bit of alone time and some space to themselves. You could scrap about anything you or a loved one does that re-energizes you/them, makes you/them feel special, or gives you/them a moment to breathe and regroup.

#15: Awesome Birds Font...
Click on the image below to download the font and then use it on your page.

#18: Winged Things...
Birds, butterflies, insects, fairies, airplanes... scrap about a favorite "winged thing" in your family. Or activities that involve "winged things" - kite flying, bird watching, butterfly gardens, airports, bug catching, dress up!

#20: In Preparation for __________ ...
An upcoming trip, a school play/program, team tryouts, a big race, an interview, a new pet, a charity drive, a sleep over, a birthday party, a reunion, house guests, your garden, saving up for a big purchase...

#21: Scrap with an April Featured Designer...
Scrap with any product that's by either Kristin or Willemijne

#22: Botanical Gardens...
Scrap about any sort of beautiful garden that you frequent in your life... even if it's just a field of wildflowers!

#23: Scraplift Yourself...
Go to the FIRST page of your SSD Gallery and scraplift a page you find there.

Soo I only have 2 gallery posts and i don't even know where to begin on that one. It was my first page ever and was a phone screen lock at that. Need some creative inspiration to help me through that one lol.

My question is about retired designers or current designers' retired product. What rules should I follow regarding that

You are allowed to use current designers’ retired products, but not retired designers products.

23 - scraplift yourself: first gallery page.
First like the most recent layouts or first like the least recent? Because my gallery is sorted by most to least recent and I just had to ask

Oh!!! Your "screen lock" layout reminds of a journal card. Perhaps that your be your source of inspiration?

You can use a real definition from the dictionary or make one up that works for your page. For example, a page of a child with their grandparents could use the definition, "Grandparents: family members who will drop everything to play, feed you lots of treats, and give you a minimum of 50 hugs a day."

It could be your title and somewhere on the page you define that word. Use a definition you find online or dictionary.
I found some examples for you in the gallery.

I had to do some digging with this one. I typed up what the definition was, searched for layouts tagged as this and then I came across this blog post

"Asymmetry means “without symmetry.” Nothing is mirrored or centered. You could have an odd or mismatched number of differing elements. Designing with an absence of symmetry, does not mean there is not balance. Since there is no formula for asymmetrical balance, you must achieve it by sensing whether it looks balanced or not."

This is my asymetrical layout because it has three photos (not even), it's off to the side. There's a large cluster in one location and no where else. It's a "hot mess", but it works!

that is a whole lot of fun, Wendy! love it!

Asymmetry is really just about things not being balanced. I think most of us tend to be pretty linear in our scrapping approach, with photos usually being square/rectangle, so it's just an idea to get a more free flowing page design. You could take a basic approach to the prompt by scrapping predominately on one side of the page...

or by scrapping on non-mirrored off kilter sides of the page:

the clustering on this page is asymmetrical and would work for this prompt:

or by allowing your "design" to be really organic and free flowing :

I hope that helps. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone creates with this one!

Thank you so much, Wendy & Loni! <3

Wendy, your LO is fabulous!!

I knew the definition, but looked it up anyway, but didn't really come up with anything helpful. That blog post is great!

I think I was over-complicating it

So long as it's a brand new layout and it is within the theme, then I'll say it totally counts!

I'm so sorry I have so many questions this is my first time doing the bingo.
1)On number 12 is it only 8 or at least 8?
2)And follow-up to that if I've already used a template for one of my squares can I use another one as long as it is obvious it's not the same layout; like different kit and pictures?
3) I'm not sure I can scrap without a template so on number 9 as long as it's similar and has the general feel of that does that count?

I'm sorry I'm probably way over thinking this entirely; ive just found a groove of some sort and want to follow the rules

No worries!
1 - at least 8 shapes
2 - you can totally re-use the same template
3 - a similar feeling/looking template is just fine

In that case you can either make a totally new page or scrap lift someone you admire

Any tips or tutorial for doing highlighted text in PSE? I could "fake" it, but if there is a trick, I'd love to know it!

You can just make particular words in your text standout. Make them a different colour or font. Doesn't literally have to be like you've used a highlighter. You can also make a rectangle behind your text and fill it with colour. Reduce the opacity of that layer to make it look like highlighter. Or put key words on tags. Here's what I've done:

For highlighted text you can also find paint elements in various kits and use them behind your text.

For example, the bright pink swash in this pack:

How I wish I had thought of that! My fake highlighter looked so ugly. Lol

Those are fabulous examples! Thanks, Jacinda!
I was putting this one off because I couldn't figure out how to "highlight" and make it look good. I love the ideas of using word strips or just a different color text.

That's how I did it, but your samples are SO much better! I love the circled words! Thanks for your answer - and inspiration.
