Tell me to just let go (ditching kits that are YEARS old)
I need to do it. MUST do it. But I'm having such a hard time!
I have HUNDREDS of gigs of old kits... OLD. Like 2006 to current. I could free up about 400 gigs of space by just clicking DELETE. How long do YOU keep digi scrap purchases?

Delete kits that you have already used on a page without even doubting yourself. Pretend it's paper... used up. Especially if you are still buying new stuff. In my experience, with unused kits... if I haven't thought about using it in 2 years I am never going to use it. If I have stopped buying a designer's stuff or stopped scrapping in a certain style, it usually means I'm not likely to use that stuff again. Do it!!!

Yep. I give myself permission to delete kits I have used or something I don't like anymore or no longer my style. No guilt. Just do it. Once it is done you will feel AWESOME about all that space you have. Plus, I always rewarded myself with a little shopping spree to get a few new kits that motivated me to scrap again.

Hmmm. I think I could bring myself to delete the freebies and kits that have accumulated on my hard drive (just havent gotten around to it, thanks short attention span, oooh shiny!) but I just can't delete the SSD kits.

I am getting better about this. I recently deleted a bunch of kits that I had never used. I always want to use the new things that are coming out, and I never have time to go back to the kits that I haven't used. But, there are always a few that I hang on to hoping that I'll get around to them.
Things have come a long way since 2006. You're not going to use those kits. Get rid of 'em!

delete delete delete....now don['t ask me about deleting pictures LOL!
honestly even if I haven't used it on a page, I go through my folders and if something just doesn't catch my eye or interest any more, it gets deleted and then I empty my recycle bin so there are no 2nd thoughts! |

So I would TOTALLY do this, but I'm notorious about forgetting to back up my kits, and I've had TWO computer crashes since I started digiscrapping. It's taken care of the purging for me.
I just barely have a few dozen kits I love right now, and nothing I am ready to get rid of, so maybe if I remember to back it up, I'll purge. (P.S. you could just view it that way... oopsie! Those kits all accidentally got deleted! Guess I need to buy new ones!)

With very few exceptions, I do a massive delete every year. I got serious about it when I finally organized my supplies in 2011.
Seriously, if I haven't used it since the LAST time I went through my catalog, what makes me think I'll use it someday? In the meantime, designers are churning out awesomeness every week that must make their way into my stash, lol. |

There. I just deleted almost 8 gb of SSD stuff from my ehd... now let me go move all my more recent SSD stuffs on to it and completely negate that.
