Sleep and vitamins and orange juice and good skin care and new underthings and pretty shampoos and bath things. These are the things that make me feel a little more lively and with it.

Cutting back on Coffee really does help. Right now I'm limiting myself to 2 (larger) cups a day (I was up to like 6 or more cups!!). I'm gonna try to get back to my one cup in the morning (if that). But we'll see...

And eating right. Once your body is used to eating really healthy, it feels like absolute pooh whenever you eat something bad (like pizza - eating pizza always made me feel horrible after eating clean for so long).

Make sure you sleep enough. I try to get at least 8hrs if I can. But no less than 6hrs. I time my day around it. For me - exercising every day really helps fall asleep at night too.

That's all I got. I'm trying to get back to my normal routine - I let things slip over the holidays, and it feels good to get back at it

Low on magnesium? My mom is always after me on this... I have chronic headaches and they seem to be better - and have a bit more energy - if I remember to take my supplements...

I've revamped how I eat (no dairy and no starches/few carbs and virtually no sugar) and started taking B12 too and it's been helping and SLEEP (easier said than done I know)

Have you had your iron and thyroid checked? When my iron was low, I was so exhausted that walking down the hallway tired me about for the next half hour. I also had no short-term memory -- as in, I'd get up from my desk, walk down the hall and not remember what I stood up for in the first place.

Sounds silly, but drinking more water really does help. I need to cut back on diet coke so when I sleep it will be better sleep, but its a vicious cycle!

All the thing mentioned above I'm anemic and I can always tell when my iron is dipping too low. And being a vegetarian I take B12 sublingual and a zinc and magnesium also.

Thanks ladies. I think i'm going to go to my dr and request a full blood workup.

I am on synthroid so it is possible my dosage might need to be adjusted

Going to start on B12 for sure too.

Start taking vitamin D, like at least 1000IU a day. I take 2000 IU. Canadians are usually deficient in vitamin D. Since seeing a naturopath last year I have been taking vitamin D and B12.

Thanks for this. I took B12 when the school year started and stopped after I got in a groove... but I'm struggling this week and B12 might help. I take D3 every day at my doctor's recommendation. I swear when I run out and think "I don't need that really" I always get really, really sick. So I'm just taking it every day for the rest of my life.

I was going to suggest this too. My doctor just put me on 50,000 IU per week. Being exhausted sucks!

Water, vitamin, sleep, and eating right. What helps me is that I keep a routine. Once I get out of my routine, I seem to tire more easily! Hoping you start perking up!

I was going to say Vitamin B-12 and Vitamin D too. Those are easy things to not be getting enough of and that can wear you down.

I went to the doctor in October to find out why I was so crabby and my energy level was so low. We checked my hormones and sure enough I need some testosterone and progesterone. However, in between my first visit and getting labs and then going back for results I starting eat low carb. My energy is back up (except when I'm low on carbs and need to eat) and I'm not as moody and the weight loss part is awesome. It made me feel so much better all around!

Sugar also suppresses your immune system and makes you more tired. Drinking more water can also increase energy levels.

Try to stay on the same sleep schedule too - rather than trying to "catch up" on the weekends.

I'm going to echo the thyroid thing. Have it checked out by an endocrinologist just in case.

everything said above plus...
sleep! and cut the sugar. try avoiding it totally together with starches. sugar is at least my worst enemy. when i do sugar, i have to sleep afterwards.

I have severe anemia issues. I am chronically tired because of my low iron levels. I think that the kind of exhaustion that comes with anemia is the worst. As Heddy said, just walking down the hall can leave you exhausted. The memory issue is crazy too. I remember being so flat out exhausted that I would wash 2 dishes and have to nap for an hour before I felt like washing 2 more dishes. At one point my doctor said that he didn't know how I was even standing up, let alone walking and talking. My levels weren't even detectable on my blood test. That was the day I went in for a blood transfusion. Since then I've had issues still, but not quite as drastic, thankfully.

Are you just physically tired or is it mental too? The iron caused extreme mental exhaustion as well as the physical. I can tell now when my levels are getting low because my thinking gets cloudy and making a decision makes me want to take a nap. LOL

You're awesome!

I used this: Isotonix B Vitamin Complex, and it was life changing. I went from being dead tired no matter how much sleepI got to waking up feeling excited about the day within 3 days of starting it. I couldn't belive what a difference it made! Probably any vitamin B pill would work, but I couldn't believe how quickly this powder made me feel better.
