Let's talk new TV shows...

So, we are a few weeks into a couple of shows...

I am loving Alcatraz - yay! DH just sort of watches it with me, but isn't quite hooked yet.

However, with The Firm, I'm kind of meh on. Which is sad, because I wanted to love it. I'm just not loving the format of the shows - a new case that McDeere "brilliantly" wins, then just a little bit about their big problem. I'll stick with it a few more weeks and see how it works out.

And who is going to watch Touch - starting tomorrow night? I'm excited about that one! Did anyone watch The Confession? I see it's out on DVD now.

I haven't decided about Smash yet - kind of seems like a grown-up version of Glee which I have hated since the first season ended. But we'll see, I might give it a try.

Oh and Survivor starts up soon too!

DH loves Alcatraz..I like it but I'm annoyed lol I want to know how they stay young..and how like the Dr last night is the same one from the 60's..AND Lucy!! She was in the 60's too..and knowing how the creators are..we probably won't find out how/why until the series ends in no telling how many years

I like The Firm..I like the setup how it was 6 weeks ago..5 weeks ago..etc

Not sold on Smash yet but we'll see...

I <3 Keifer so I'll try Touch but it seems like a totally different type of show than I usually watch I think so who knows

Can't wait for Survivor, The Voice, and Amazing Race to start soon!

I might watch Touch. I will definitely be watching Survivor this season- seems like some interesting twists.

Right now I'm watching The Bachelor (something mindless while I breastfeed and get chores done), Once Upon a Time, Revenge, Switched at Birth, Jane By Design, Pretty Little Liars, The Lying Game, Remodeled, Dance Moms, Last Man Standing, and Work It. Oh, and Celebrity Wife Swap, but I watch that with my whole family. When Zach wakes up in the night, I'll usually just pull Hulu up and watch whatever I haven't seen yet that week... so usually I end up seeing all of my shows by the end of the week.

I think Alcatraz is entertaining and I like the cast, but so far I find the premise completely ridiculous. I'm trying not to let that ruin it for me.

The only new one I've caught is Alcatraz. I am loving it! It reminds me of LOST. So naturally it's driving me crazy with all the unanswered questions I have lol. But I really like it.

I haven't seen any new shows that really caught my eye but I've been hearing good things about Smash so I'll probably check that one out.

I have Alcatraz dvrd so far, but haven't watched it yet - a HUGE LOST fan, so I'm hoping it's good. -Even though I'm sure nothing will ever be quite like, or as good as LOST lol.

I don't watch Survivor, but I'm looking forward to The Voice.

And so excited for Touch!! Hoping it's a good show.

ooooohhh so Touch didn't start yet?? I thought it started last week and I saw the commercial for the first time when watching American Idol on the DVR. I really want to watch it and am so happy I didn't miss an episode yet! I'm looking forward to The Voice too!

I am enjoying Alcatraz and trying to decide about the Firm. I'm a recent convert to Downton Abbey and wish they had two hour episodes every week! I also watch Once Upon A Time, American Idol, and Biggest Loser. I'm an avid fan of Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, so I watch those everyday too (thank heavens for DVR!). I'm definitely looking forward to The Voice, Survivor, and Amazing Race, and I'll also be checking out Smash. This broadway junkie just can't stay away from that one. I haven't heard much about Touch, but I'll have to give it a look now.

As the good TV junkie I am, I'm looking forward to watch all the new stuff coming. I'm not hooked on The Firm as I thought I would be. I watched the pilot of Alcatraz, but I have this trauma from LOST; I'm afraid about it.
Totally looking forward to watch Touch.
My problem is the series in Brazil are delayed, sometimes an entire season, so I have a lot to catch up with: The Walking Dead, The Big Bang Theory, Glee, Breaking Bad and True Blood before I start to watch new ones.
I'll ask DH for a TV in Olivia's nursery room.

I have the same trouble. Last night I was like, oh Alcatraz is on and it was 1/2 hr into it already. Thankfully DH was recording it. I've decided we need a 2nd DVR to put upstairs so I can tape and watch all the shows *I* want.

I've treated Chuck the way I treated Lost. I waited until it ended and then I'll just buy the full series set on DVD. I've heard so many good things about it, but didn't want to start part way through. None of the new shows interest me, but I'm anxious for Mad Men to finally return!

Oh boy. TV in Belgium just sucks when I read how many good shows you're able to watch! Right now there is nothing worth following, except The Voice.
I loved Lost, I hope they will broadcast Alcatraz here as well. (probably not within the first year, bleh). We do have Revenge on pay television. I watched the first 2 episodes and I think I'll continue to watch it. I'll follow this thread and take mental note of what is worthy, so I don't forget to watch it when it finally gets here

Oh and I don't watch The Firm but just an FYI..EW had an article this week that said it's premier ratings were awful and only got worse the second week and that it probably wouldn't even make it half a season.

But I'm REALLY waiting on Game of Thrones and The Borgias in April!!

It's not a new show, but I recently started watching Shameless on Showtime (Thank goodness for On Demand so I could go back and watch all of the first season!). I must say that show is so wrong in so many ways...yet I love it!

well..I really want to love Touch..and was so bored til the last 20 or so mins.

NOW we have to wait til March?? I thought last night was the season premiere but I guess it was just a sneak peek and the show actually starts in March.

I told DH last night that so far for me it seems like it woulda just made an awesome movie. He however loved it...Part of the problem for me is that I lean more towards an analytical/ocd spectrum and I sat watching and told him everything that was coming up and was pretty much right the whole time. There wasn't anything that really shocked or surprised me. I'm def willing to give it a shot though just b/c I adore Kiefer so much haha

I really liked Touch! Although when that guy punched Keifer S. at the gas station I was all expecting him to go Jack Bauer on him lol..It's going to take me a while to get used to seeing him and it not be 24 lol

lol, Me too Nikki! I loved it, but I couldn't believe it was just a preview and we have to wait until March to see more - that's disappointing But dh liked it too, and we're looking forward to the season!

We have to download everything on Apple TV here - I think I will DL the 1st episode of Touch, The Firm and Alcatraz - but it sounds like I will just get frustrated with Alcatraz... I think that is one of the shows I will have to wait and watch the whole 1st season in one setting -

Yeah, the waiting until March surprised me, but I was almost relieved since I have such a hard time remembering to watch regular TV. Still need that extra DVR.

Oh and Nikki -that's interesting about The Firm. Really too bad, as it could have been so good!

The one bad thing about only watching tv via DVR is that I never see the previews and so I've never even heard of Alcatraz. I'll have to check it out. We haven't been hooked on The Firm yet either. I am loving Person of Interest, Revenge, Once Upon A Time, Pan Am as far as newish shows goes. Touch was pretty good last night and I'm looking forward to watching more of that. I will probably give Smash a try but it hasn't reeled me in with the previews at all. Old favorites...Glee, Private Practice, The Good Wife, Desperate Housewives, Survivor. I'm also looking forward to The Voice.

I enjoyed Touch last night. I did think it was a tad predictable, and I did doze off for a few minutes so missed the guy hitting Kiefer, but I will plan to watch it in March.

DH & I are both really loving it.

And I saw that Mad Men will be back March 25th, I know its not too, but gosh its been off for over a year and a half now!
