switching to a mac
If you switched to a mac sometime during the course of your digiscrapping life - did you have any issues with your photoshop actions, brushes or whatnot transferring over to the mac version of photoshop? Just curious....

Well.. Actions and brushes are the same for macs and pcs.. No difference at all, same for fonts.. So no problem you can use the same action on both the mac version or the pc version of Photoshop. Not sure if this is What you were asking..

No problems with those at all. My only surprise came with finding that you will see your desktop through your workspace, lol. Threw me for a huge loop, lol.

You can change that. I switched it so the workspace BG is solid.

I'm contemplating this same switch. I am very nervous about the idea of learning a new system, though. And about spending enough money to buy TWO PCs.

I've been wondering the same thing. We've had two Windows systems die on us in the past couple of weeks. One was brand new, just out of the box. We've got it back up and running now, but I'm still a little nervous that it will freak out again at the most inopprtune time.

I spent a couple hundred more on my imac than I did on my Dell laptop.

Not sure if you all know this, but once you switch, you can contact Adobe and they will switch over your Photoshop to the Mac platform for free or next to free (depending if you upgrade). I think I only had to pay for shipping on the new disks. A lot of software companies will allow you to switch platforms for little or no additional charge.
I've had my Mac Pro since 2008 and I have had NO problems. No viruses, no crashes. Nothing. I have added tons of RAM and a couple hard drives and this puppy is motoring along.

I know, right. I hate spending that kind of money when I could get a PC for a lot less, but right now, I'm so sick of my laptop problems (video card, network card, hard disk... the thing is always crashing, even after repairs) that I can't wait to have a Mac, even if it meens going back to a desktop - I'm getting an iMac.

I promise you - the money you invest in a Mac is well worth it!! We have a G5 iMac (the last one before they put in the intel chips) and we have never had a problem with it at all. We now also have two 24 inch iMacs (one for the hubs and one for me) and a Macbook Pro. It is well worth the money - I promise you!!

You could look into a Mac Mini - and then you could keep your existing monitor, keyboard & mouse to save some $$
