You have all the positive thoughts I can muster coming your way Sara. It sucks that you all have to go through this.
It can be beat - my mom is a survivor of 3 different types of cancer - one of them being nonsmall cell lung - like the other poster here (can't remember who it was!) she had a resection and a few rounds of radiation (but NOT chemo) and she is now 8 years out from that and doing great.

Oh Sara - I am so sorry you are dealing with this. I am seriously in tears for you. I will pray like crazy for you and Jeff and your kiddos. (((hugs))) I cannot even imagine what you must be feeling right now. I hope you are able to go the surgical route and that it is an early stage.

Praying for you!! Defenitely listen about not googling. When my husband was in the hospital and they did not know what was going on with his liver (scar tissue from the car accident) I googled what they were telling us they THOUHGT it was and had major anxiety and worry until it was ruled out and determined it was just scar tissue.

Thanks everyone. I knew in my heart that it was cancer on wednesday, so I'm coping really well today. I did my freak outs on Wednesday and Thursday.
 Plus.. I have xanax. So there is that. Seriously though, thank you so much for all the love and support. It REALLY helps.

Sara, you have my prayers as well. As a person with cancer, I hope it is okay to give you some advice I wish I had gotten at my diagnosis.
While you are wise to stay away from the internet until you have an official diagnosis, once you have that, please do some research into the type of cancer, treatment options and the doctors in your area. Most likely you will be your husband's advocate, so you will need to be armed with as much knowledge as you can gather. Never be afraid to ask as many questions as you need to in order to be comfortable with the next step in the treatment program. Get second opinions and even third ones if necessary. Make sure your husband eats healthy and does some light exercising to keep his body as fit as possible for and during treatment; it will also help lift his spirits. Think positive thoughts; my oncologist tells me that cancer feeds on negativity and I believe him. Visualize your husband being cancer free. When it all gets to be too much, lean on the people who love you. They will be there for you and they will want to help you and your husband through this. God bless and keep you both.
