Default Anniversary Gifts after 20+ Years

So apparently, when you get old, you get each other colonoscopies for your anniversary.

My husband and I will have our 23rd anniversary on Saturday. I had a colonoscopy last week and he had his this week. Getting old together is fun. It's better than the alternative at least.

Wow...y'all really go all out!

My dog just looked at me since I was laughing. My husband and I are both fairly low key. Sounds like how we'd celebrate, too. lol

Congratulations on your anniversary!

Lol pretty much! We usually go out to a nice dinner and try a new restaurant or something like that. Nothing too crazy. Our Anniversary is in August and it's usually our only 'slow' time from kids' activities, so we try to relax and enjoy our time together as much as possible!

Wow Tracie - that is quite a way to "celebrate"!! You'll have to think of something a little more fun for next year's anniversary!!

We just celebrated our 42 anniversary yesterday - we try to take a little trip around our special day - this year, we're enjoying staying in a mountain home in the western part of North Carolina.

What a way to celebrate, Tracie!
Happy anniversary to you both!

Our 17th anniversary is coming up on July 2nd and I had to remind Lan in advance to not forget about it, because he did several times in the past. We are most likely going to have a lunch/dinner in one of our fave restaurants *with the kids tagging along, sadly...*

I'm sorry to have chuckled. Maybe I'm chuckling at myself. I can't remember when Rich and I have celebrated without "kids tagging along." lol Maybe before Nathan was born?

I totally understand! We haven't been able to go on a date without kids in a decade or so because we have no childcare for Noah.

Happy anniversary, Tracie! My bff married a guy 7 years younger than her, so she's basically getting old by herself, and it makes me feel grateful to be married to an old man. lol

We celebrated our 23rd anniversary this month, too, and we were like let's have dinner at home because it's too much effort to go somewhere. AND ALL IS RIGHT IN MY WORLD. I'm so glad to be married to someone who gets me and doesn't force me to leave the house.

Seriously, there are times when I am at my wits' end. I even declared that once our youngest, Michelle, leaves the nest for University, I'll take a one-year vacation and travel on my own without telling anyone my schedules. I need my sanity backkkkk. Though it won't be until another 15 years though
Lan had furiously refused my declaration though *rofl*

We have no childcare here and Lan's parents are not in the position where they can supervise both of our kids at the same time. Heck, they actually cannot take Michelle without one of us being there... And my parents living in another country... there goes romance, sanity and me-time

Parenthood is *something*

Sounds....romantic!? But hey, it's an important part of growing older together!

My 26th Anniversary was yesterday. I barely saw him. He woke me up around 3:30 when he went to his 2nd job to tell me goodbye and wished me Happy Anniversary then (I was half asleep and barely responded). Then he was home in time for supper last night (a rarity since he usually doesn't get home from his main job until 9-10pm). So we had supper together. That was it. Then he was in bed shortly after to get up early and do it all over again (actually up around 2am this morning) and I stayed up until 11pm. So, we saw each other for maybe an hour on our Anniversary. I'm used to it! That is how our life goes!

But my daughter just reminded me that our 30th Anniversary, only 1 girl will be in College...so maybe I will get my Alaska Cruise!

Happy Anniversary!!

I just celebrated officially being divorced as of June 2nd, lol. We have been apart for 15 years and just got around to the paperwork in the fall.
