Default 2015 Pantone Color of the Year

Well, what do you think? I like it better than the lilac-y color of this year.

Ugh. I'm with Robin. I never like the color they choose, and this one is no exception.

It's got a nice shimmer but that's it. IT's kind of a cross between burgundy and chocolate brown no? More like a mahogany wood colour. Strange.

I agree with Kristin, it needs to be punched (or maybe the person who chose it?) LOL

I'm not a big fan of the color.
I'm with Kristin too... a little bit of punch wouldn't hurt.

Dark red is my favorite color, so I like it. I wish they'd chosen a shade with a bit less brown, but it makes me happy that it's going to be easy to find clothes in similar colors. But, what's with that name? Never heard marsala used for a color before!

I don't mind it. It's much different than the more pastel picks they have had lately

I love purple, so this year's color was okay by me. This one is just . . . meh. But, hey, how much does their "color of the year" actually affect anything in real life?

I prefer bolder brighter colors so I'm not a fan - who the heck cares what the color of the year is anyway?

It didn't jump out and catch my attention, but it's not terrible. I'd actually wear this colour -- and I sort of like how it's on a cream background in the picture. A cream blazer with a marsala top might be nice for work. Or a marsala sweater with a cream scarf? It would also be a good nail polish, I think.

Hmm. I'm a big fan of burgundy but this leans a little more brownish. I do like it with a little bit of shimmer as in the picture you posted.

I wonder this same thing, every year when they release the next years colour. The vast majority always hate it It does absolutely nothing for me either.

It reminds me of the 90s. That dark lip liner with the nude gloss, a slicked back hairstyle with light, but perfect bangs, and big hoops.

I can see where the color would be nice in make-up and clothing. I'm not a huge fan, but I'd like it in a lipstick.

Meh.
I'm torn. I normally don't like the colors they pick anyway. I'm o the fence though. I like that's warm and rich but I wish it had more of a pop. Something a bit more stand out.

I was more attracted to the background colors there, mint and the cream lol! It's okay for me, I think.

As I understand it, it's mainly for fashion designers and make up artists. They go by the colour of the year for their collections and shows. Of course, I could be totally and completely wrong, but I did hear them talk about the Pantone colour of the year on Project Runway once. lol.

I like brights & pastels, so this one is too muted for me. But I can see it'll look great as lipstick, nail polish & clothes.

LOL I just read an article in the WJS about this and was going to pop in and see what everyone was thinking. It's ok, nothing special IMO. But definitely better than the fugly color they had for this year.

as many mentioned above, i'd like it as a nail polish or lipstick. it's not something i'd use for clothes or in my interior decorating, though. and i'm weird - bc i have loved a lot of their recent colors - LOL - the purple (wisteria?) was a fave as well as emerald ... and the turquoise ... not so much the orange ...

I love my lipstick that is similar to this! I am on the fence with this one. I can see it being fab for some things and maybe meh for others.

I actually like it. I am kind of like Brook though.... I like all colors. When I was little, I would get my parents to buy me the biggest box of crayons I could find and I would always find a way to use each of the colors.

Exactly! Brownish reddish that couldn't make it's mind up. Without the shimmer, a bit dull.
