Default Disney Scrapping, have you scrapped Maps, show me, please

I've been consumed with scrapping our recent Disney trip and I'm really noticing things that I've missed on previous trips, like what attractions we've done, I even realized what pictures I should have taken this trip and didn't, anyhow, that's a whole different story.

But, I've been listening to Connecting with Walt, a WDW, Disney history podcast and they've been talking about different closed attractions, what has changed over the years, so I'd really like to include layouts with the maps.

Have any of you scrapped the maps before? I'd love to see them if you have. I need inspiration. I was thinking of including the key too, but I'm not sure there will be enough room.

This was an overall map page. I'll have to see if I scrapped any of the individual park maps. I did use a Smash book for all the maps, our tickets, etc.

I'd just have the map cover the entire spread, and add markers or text boxes over it if I wanted to add notes. I'd use following pages with more detail and photos.

These are some great ideas! I haven't done any with maps except this one the other day- I just used a snippet of the map to show where we were since I didn't take much for photos there-

This is how I used mine. I also included one with a brochure since it's the same idea.

Great idea!

I’m kicking myself for not getting photos of splash mountain or big Thunder mountain. 😟

I didn’t want to constantly have my camera out, I took plenty of photos, but I could always have used more to scrap! Lol!

Yay! Glad to be of help! Do share your album when you're done! I could use some inspiration myself! I'm working on our 2017 Disneyland album right now but we leave in 44 days for another Disneyland trip and I'm going to be up to my elbows in Disney pics to scrap again and I don't want every album to look the same you know?

I will! I've been adding a few layouts to my gallery here. More on FB as I finish them.

Kim Walker did a great job with hers, she went with the PL look. And it's fantastic.

It's been 6 years since our last trip, so it'll be easier to make sure my albums don't look too similar.

Just curious, do you guys bring your big gun camera or just use your cell phone? I'd be afraid to damage my big one in rides or it flying in my face or something like that...

I have a 7d that I use at home and for work (I'm a part time photographer), but for trips like Disney, I usually just take my older Canon Rebel. This time, I only pulled it out at Chef Mickey's and during the parade. I used my phone for everything else.

Now, I'd like to take a grown-up trip one day to just focus on taking photos, but that's a whole different story, LOL!

I would have used my Rebel more if we would have done more character meet and greets. My daughter when on a Make a Wish trip back in 2012 (she's a 2 time cancer survivor) and I used my rebel for that entire trip. She met over 40 characters, so they weren't interested really this time. We did Chef Mickey's so our youngest could meet the Fab Five, since it was his first trip.

I had a fanny pack that I'd put my camera in for rides, and we still used a stroller for both trips.

Here's our album from her wish trip, but it's dated now, it's from 2012.
https://www.facebook.com/vanessa.arm...7358424&type=3

the first time we took the kids, we just did Chef Mickey's, the Magic Kingdom and Downtown Disney, so it was pretty quick and not an entire album.

We use all the above! We love our big camera for some photos, our point and shoot for others, and the cell phones for some too! Basically with 6 people, we're sure to get at least 1 good photo of a subject, ride, or attraction!

These are great! They would be great pages to start individual days in the parks! I'll have to scraplift these for our next 2 trips planned!

Oh my! It makes me so sad. Such a young child to have to deal with cancer. And cancer survivor! It's a miracle. I can't imagine what you've been going through.

Thanks Dawn! That's exactly what I did... start each day with the Day # card and the park map where we were at. I was inspired by Vanessa's FB album (duh why didn't I think of that instead of sending people to my slow-loading Shutterfly album?!) and loaded mine to my FB today. If you want to check out the rest of the pages here's the link!

https://www.facebook.com/cassie.king...7500216&type=3

I just bought a paper album set *GASP* from Simple Stories today for one of my older Disney trips I've been putting off. All these paper pages have me missing the touchy-feely dimension of a good old fashioned scrapbook.

Fabulous pages, Cassie!!! They're such an inspiration for me to get my abundance of Disneyland photos scrapped... I just chip away at them, but would really like to get them all scrapped.
I paper scrapped the map from one of our early trips with my daughter, but I'd have to search for that

Wow! Vanessa, thank you for sharing your album! It looks like an amazing trip for your family, even though the circumstances were not ideal.

Aww, thank you! She was all done with treatment by then, for about 2 months, so we were over the moon to be getting away for the week. And it was an amazing time. They spoiled us. My husband kept asking me this time, you think we could get another one of those buttons, LOL! (her Give Kids the World/Make a Wish button)

We had an awesome time this trip too. I'll be sure to share my album when I finish. Kim should come share hers too. We'll have to nudge her on FB.

I just sat down to really look at your FB album Vanessa! Holy cow that's a lot of pages! It surely must have been a labor of love! I like how you have both sides of your album have the same background papers and general elements. I never know how to scrap 'non-pocket' and still have it be consistent. For my current album I'm doing something like page filler templates so maybe I'll baby step my way to traditional after seeing these? :P

Great ideas!!!!! I am still finishing up the second album from our 2014 trip (the first 3 days are done and printed in an album). I may add maps to the end of the album!!!

That's how I've always done my albums, I always use the same kit twice. It can be a pain sometimes! LOL! It was a huge album, for sure!
