Default Period undies (don't read if you don't want TMI)

Where else to ask a question like that but with a community of ladies only. Are there any men here??

So I've made the switch to using cups instead of tampons but can't do without any type of liners or pads because sometimes it leaks. And I really can't stand those things. They are either not long enough or not wide enough or there is a smell.

So my question is:
Who is using period undies and what brand do you recommend?

For those wanting to know, I used to have the Diva cup and liked it at first but my period has changed and I have a very heavy flow at the beginning of the cycle so I looked for a bigger one. I now use the June cup and I really like it. I also don't feel it as much as I felt the Diva.

I do not have any, but am also super curious about them. My IUD stops my period, but I still spot a day or two a month. Period undies would be nice for that.

Great question Lea. I have never used them but am quite curious yet cautious about them and if they actually work.

My teen uses Knix period panties - they have one specifically for teens but they have adult as well, and they are great.

I am so thankful I don't have to deal with that anymore...whew! Interesting question though...I have never heard of period panties before. I had surgery 6 years ago...so all is gone, but my ovaries.

My niece uses them and LOVES them. I'm not sure which brand she uses. I've seen lots of ads for the Knix ones and I wish they had those when I needed them!!!!

So Knix is the only brand that came up. Let see if anybody else has heard of anything else?

Thanks all for your input so far. It's always hard for me to make a decision.

I have a pair of Thinx...they don't carry the style I bought anymore - it was a year or 2 ago. I only use them on light days or as backup for my cup when a liner is too annoying. But I don't really like the way they fit so I don't use them much. If they fit more comfortably, I'd buy more & use them more often for sure, especially at night! I just hate to spend so much per pair to find a better fit.

I use a cup and period panties for my heavy days for the same reason as you. I like RUBY LOVE panties, you can hand wash them and in an hour it's dry! I use the JENIE cup because of the capacity.

My teen asked me to buy her some as she looooves them! All her friends use them too. Not sure as we're in Australia but Libra are her preferred. But I think any are good really.

I also use a cup & Knix. I chose Knix after reading a few articles like this-- https://www.fastcompany.com/90454555...t-be-regulated
I find them comfortable. The "leakproof" is barely noticeable, and the "super leakproof" is definitely thicker.

oh thank you! I definitely tend to worry about things being safe to use or not so I appreciate your input.

I knew I count on you to help me decide ladies!

For the Knix users, do you hand wash?
What kind do you have?

Huh....I don't need them...but I just had to pop in and see what this was all about. Sounds like a great idea.

Well I just ordered the best seller from Knix (the cheeky one) and hoping I really like it! I got 3 because there was a deal!! I really hope they fit and that I love them because it’s non refundable.

If anybody wants a code to try them
You get $15 off an order of $50.

I hadn't heard of period cups until my friend's daughter got a job at a company here in Boise that makes them. Her company is called Saalt.

I think it's all fairly new. And pretty darn smart as long as it's not another thing full of chemicals that we put inside of our bodies. There are so many companies out there that make them now. Makes it hard to choose.

I agree that it sounds like a good alternative. But, I'm also glad I don't have to worry about any of it anymore

I have purchased from here before:
https://www.shethinx.com/collections/thinx-shop-all

Also while searching for the pair that I bought my child, I came up with this article (for future reference since you already ordered)
https://www.womenshealthmag.com/heal...eriod-panties/

I switched to Saalt a couple of years ago.

I used a different kind when I started using them about 7 years ago... I remember it was about 7 years ago, because my friend & I bought them when we were both still nursing our new babies and felt like Are You There God It's Me, Margaret texting each other "I got it!" when our periods returned & we could finally try out our cups LOL
