We have a surgery date.

The surgeon doesn't feel that we need a PET scan to proceed with the surgery since Jeff has no other symptoms of the cancer being anywhere else.

Jeff's surgery will be Thursday, 3/22. He will be in the hospital for 4-7 days, depending on how much of his lung they have to remove.

The mass is in between the top and bottom lung, so if the mass wraps around a breathing tube that goes to the upper lobe, then they will have to remove the entire lung instead of just the bottom lobe. We're hoping that this is not the case, as he has enough breathing function but removing the entire lung is not ideal.

He will be off work from both his jobs for up to 3 months. Unfortunately his Union doesn't have short term disability policies, so HOPEFULLY we will be able to make it through without me having to get a 2nd job. That's the plan, at least.. it should be interesting.
