RQOTD (but if you know me, it's not REALLY random)
When (if) you use a template, do you prefer the elements to be placed there for you, or would you rather have more guidance for paper spots and what not?

*I* feel like I'm pretty good with the element/clustering stuff, so for me, I NEED paper spots and different ways to place fun shapes and what not behind my photos. A lot of times I'll delete the majority of the element guides :/

I like having both (and I delete stuff equally). I use templates more as a guide, than trying to follow them exactly.

I'm not really into templates, but when I do use them, I frequently delete the element layers.

Sometimes, I do my own element placements, sometimes I follow the template.

I like templates for the times I don't want to think on where to put photos and for it to do the paper "cutting" for me. I always delete element placements.

If I'm using the template for a CT assignment to show the template product specifically, I will be faithful to the paper and element guides. If I'm using a template just for fun, I'll play with the elements more, but I still leave the papers mostly alone.

I like them both there. It shows ideas and I can follow them or not.

I tend to leave papers alone and follow the elements pretty closely. I usually add more when I'm done following the template though.

I delete as I go and then move things around after...so I need everything lol

I like having a marker to show me where to put elements, but I wish there were fewer. I don't need the template to put 3 leaves, 4 flowers, a butterfly, and a word strip in a particular spot. Put 2 or 3 things to indicate a cluster, and I can take it from there.

I am bad about just changing up the whole thing unless of course for a designer I ct for then I try to keep it true to the template. I just use them as a guide and even change up the paper shapes most the time.

This is me too.... but I rarely use a template just for fun. If I do, I usually strip all the elements out of it.

Depends on my mood; I usually play around with the elements, but I like to have them on the template. I'm still pretty new to digi scrapping, so it's nice to get a better idea of how big I want a cluster in a certain spot.

I rarely use templates but when I do it's because of the paper and photo placement. I also love paper shapes/paper titles/etc as they do save a lot of time. I, however, tend to delete all the elements and journals. I like to place my photos first, then place the papers and after I like the placement/crops/etc, I start adding embellishments.

When I do use a template it is for paper/photo placement so I don't have to mess around with sizing those things myself. I delete the elements 98% of the time.

I usually leave the papers alone (though sometimes i will substitute an element for papers) and really usually I leave the elements alone and most of the time build from them and add to get the look I want

I always, always, always delete every single element layer on any template I use.
I usually keep most of the paper & photo layers although I do move them around and/or shrink them as I'm working on the page. |

I like to make a template my own, I will change things around and add my own elements. I do often like to use the provided things like paint, masks, string and some brushwork.

I like having both, but I don't always follow the template exactly. I feel like I'm pretty good at clustering, so I find the paper/photo placement most beneficial.

I don´t use templates for element placing.
I love them for paper and photo placing, but I usually delete the elements

This is me, Laura! I can layer/cluster like a boss, but layering paper whether it be basic or funky shapes leaves me feeling like a newbie. I suck at it. Although I love layouts that have layers on the edges of the paper, I also struggle there as well.

Sometimes I ditch the elements, but sometimes I just use them as an area to put whatever elements I want, but not as precise as the template.
