From the mouths of babes
We were at the beach the other day, and my 6 yr old says:
"Mum, you're going to be in scrapbook heaven when we go to Australia." I looked at her puzzled, because I won't be able to scrap while we're away, and say "Why's that?" To which she replies "Because of all the photos you're going to take!" Ahh, this little one. She totally gets me I just wanted to share that little moment. How about you? Have your kids said anything sweet or funny lately?

It's not a quote, but your statement about her "getting you" reminded me that the hubs is so used to me documenting what he says that HE's the one now who reminds me to take it down if we have a particularly funny conversation. I've been known to do this while halfway asleep (since a lot of ridiculousness happens at bedtime). |

When we go somewhere I know I'll be taking pictures (like the pumpkin patch or something), I'll pull out two options for Zach to wear... they always coordinate with the place we're going and I know they'll look sharp in photos. The other day, I pulled out his two choices (for the pumpkin patch), and he looked back and forth, back and forth, and then walked past me, went to the closet, and pulled out an even better option I had missed. I guess he knew what he was doing after all!

The other day I told Cait to put her dirty clothes in the laundry room. She went in and didn't come back. A minute later, in an 'I'm so amazed' kind of voice I hear her yelling - 'oh wow, it's so soft! What is this?! Can I keep it!? It's the softest thing EVER!!!' Dh goes in there and she's rubbing the biggest wad of dryer lint ever all over her face I had taken it out and left it on top of the dryer. Weirdo. She really wanted to keep it lol.

Tonight, as I attempted to build a fire....for the 5th frustrating time.
"You're the best mommy ever! And don't worry Mom, someday, you'll know how to build the fire good. Someday. Maybe. "

Yes! Lol, I'm such a dork That's exactly what she said - I'm guilty of typing these up in my ipod... Got a pic of the abused lint as well. I've got a few other little off the wall moments I need to get scrapped too . This is exactly the reason I love always having this ipod handy!!!

Given how my memory works (or doesn't!) if it isn't written down, it might as well not have happened. People ask what the kids have been up to, and I can never think of anything beyond the usual: school, favorite activities, etc. But then I go look at my phone, and I've written down tons of stories and quotes. My scrapbooks would be the most boring read ever if not for my phone (and the million post-its I used in my pre-phone days).
