Your work space is awesome! I wish I had what you do. I used to have all kinds of trational stuff cuz I made cards. Well all that was shoved in our pantry. I gave it all to my step daughter. Right now my workspace is my laptop on my lap here on the couch lol.

Wow, that is one gorgeous desk! When we moved in here I went from a craftroom to a desk in the family room so that we could have the bedrooms for the kids. Until this weekend my desk was a 12 year old POC my DH bought when he was in grad school and had no money.

We spent the weekend upgrading me to this, and I'm so excited to finally have a nice space! Still have to fill it and decorate.

OOh that is a pretty on Samara. I like your space though. I wish I just had space, mine is currently in the family room. It needs it own room so I can go there and just shut the door (and lock it lol).

HA HA my scrap space? I use the kitchen corner with my computer siting on the counter and my laptop I scrapbook in bed with. I sew on my kitchen table and I am dreaming of my own studio, girls I am dreaming big...

I want it all!

hmmm, I have a desk in my bedroom. That's it. My room is 9x12 and only has a twin bed, 2 dressers and the desk in it. I've had to be creative with storage (all my yarn is stored in bins all over--even in some of my empty dresser drawers). My husband sleeps on the sofa because there isn't enough room in a twin bed for both of us...and because he snores.

I used to have a great big desk for my paper supplies, then we moved to our house where I was going to have an office type room to scrap in! But when we got pregnant, everything was put away under my bed
I really don't mind because I don't paper scrap anymore anyways!
My scrap-area now is my couch and my hard-drive (and some DVDs for back up!!!!)

I had a whole room dedicated to scrapping...paper scrapping...I just sold almost everything from it...so the room is in total chaos at the moment...but it's too cold to go down there and clean as it's in the basement.

My digital area is a sturdy tray...with a rolling chair...nothing is really organized...ok it's flat out not organized...I'll admit it. Since I have a laptop I like being mobile and able to move around the house. Although you have made me realize I do need to get organized...

I had a complete room for scrapping too and then I sold my entire scrap room since I am all digital now. But, I've been slowly collecting some things to get into hybrid.

I just wish I could afford to make this look nice. The desk where my computer sits is laminate. The top of it has NOT held up well. It's all bubbled, exposed, and just nasty. The other issue I have is that I went with a corner desk. My keyboard and wacom DO not fit in the tray. Sooo, I have the wacom in the tray and the keyboard sitting at an angle over the opening. Totally NOT ergonomic.

I've been trying to keep an eye out on craig's list to see if anyone has anything I could use. I figure with all the foreclosures in my area, surely someone has a desk that I want. Is that terrible?

What I can't WAIT for is when my dad comes here in the summer to custom build me a desk!!

It's gonna resemble this:

The only thing is that mine is going to be a built in L shaped desk with the drawers underneath it like hers.

Here's my scraproom/office: http://mmlarson.typepad.com/photos/s...ove/index.html

That doesn't show my u-shaped desk, only the corner of it in the "view from the door" photo. But it's a very nice, expensive one that used to be in my husband's law office. Dark wood. However, unfortunately, I've ruined it in places, like my chair scraping along the edges, when I didn't realize it. I would never buy an expensive desk for craft work. This one wasn't meant for it and it's a shame that it now would not be able to be used for anything else.

If I didn't have this, I'd be getting a Formica countertop and getting something built underneath it.

One of these days I'll be brave enough to sell all my paper scrapping stuff, or at least cut it down.

When we first moved in to this house 5 years ago, I had my own room - and that was when I was stil doing paper scrapping. Once we had 2 boys, it because the toy room and I moved into the dining room and we moved the table into the kitchen. Recently, we put new floors in the kitchen and in that process decided the table would be better in the dining room.. By this time, I had gone to two corner desks in the dining room. One for me and one for.. me LOL. Now, I'm back to just one corner desk - it's in the corner of the living room.

This is mine:

Except now I have the monitor moved to the far right and the laptop in the middle of the desk. I also have filled the shelves with stuff. And the ugly chandelier is gone.

I have a little desk in the corner of our family room (or in the den downstairs in the summer). I don't really want a scrap room or any paper supplies though. I'm quite happy with my little space. It works out great since its where everyone hangs out together doing our own things

We have the same printer Amanda!

I don't have a space right now...just my la-z-boy chair and my laptop. When we move in the summer, I'd love to have an extra room for a chair, TV, possibly a desk, and a table for all DH's recording equipment and guitars. Hopefully!

We have an enclosed computer desk so when we aren't on the computer we can shut the doors and it just looks like a hutch! I am not the hybrid goddess you are so my few supplies are in the closet we added shelves to so it holds tubs of various craft supplies and a few of those plastic drawer thingies. Again it is in a closet so when I am not crafting the doors close up and nothing to look at !!!

Our office is also the school room so one day I'd love to have just a dedicated room for me with crafts only! A girl can dream !

I LOVE THIS!!! I'm actually thinking that I might be able to do something like this. Is your dad custom making the drawers? Or is he using base cabinets from Home Depot? What is the top going to be made from?

Samara, i LOVE your space! i have a laptop. i'm either in the recliner, or at the kitchen table. i have a plastic drawered cart and a china cabinet with my paper/hybrid stuff crammed into it. poor china cabinet; its main use was to showcase my pretties but now i use it to put stuff i don't want the kids to get, i.e. scrap stuff

we found a house with 6 bedrooms, so DH an i could each have our own little office/scrap room but our credit score is holding us back. so we have to wait a little while

Cindy-
Do you have the counter resting on the cubes? This totally gives me an idea for my room. And, are they about 8-10 inches away from the wall?

My room as it is now. I am always searching Craigs list for a kitchen cabinet set up that I like and can afford so I can do it over.

My workspace

trying to get as much as the room in one photo without a wide angle!

Oh wow, what a great room! The only place I have left to carve out a little space for myself would be the garage. LOL. I may just have to go ahead and do that. Most of my craft items are out there anyways and I am going to Ikea with my sister next week. Right now I move around from the dining room table to the kitchen table to my bedroom. I would love, love, love to have an awesome craft room, except I'd never want to leave it! LOL!

Cindy...your room is totally gorgeous!! I love how bright and fun it is too. I will never do that many hybrid or craft projects again to warrant building myself something like that, but it would still be fun to have!

I gave my office to my two youngest (17 & 21). That way, they can go in there and listen to music, hang out on facebook, do homework....

I just have my laptop on our kitchen table. I'm good with this until they are gone, and I can make my office a nice retreat for myself.

Yes and yes I used to have my countertop on the white cabinets in the other photo but got to where I didn't like the height (the cabinets are high and I had to use a drafting chair - like a barstool on wheels). It was a lot of getting up and down so I bought the target cubes and moved my countertop onto those. The countertop is just a stock white laminate countertop from Lowes and the Target cubes are several inches from the wall but it holds up just fine.

Really gorgeous room, Cindy!

I only have a small little basket of hybrid supplies, so no need for an actual scrap space. My laptop is usually sitting on the small table in our kitchen.

I keep wanting to decorate my scrap space (my half of our office) but haven't been able to get past painting my wall! I LOVE the color, just trying to get everything organized in a nice way and do something with my wall. I will post pics when I am done.

Funny thing is...my real scrap space is my laptop on my Tablemate II in front of my TV 99% of the time. But I want my space in the office to be nice looking instead of the piles it is now!!!
