Anyone else have a camera card do this?

I bought both my camera cards at the same time, over two years ago, and about 2 months ago one stopped being easy to show on the computer. I'd have to take it out and put it in like 10 or so times before it would show up. Now my other one is doing it too.
Is it just time to buy new ones? Has anyone else ever had them do this before?

Are the contacts (gold colored parts) dirty maybe? Sounds like it isn't talking to the computer. They do/can go bad though eventually.

Mine did exactly that but it was an issue with my card reader not the card itself. I bought a card reader to use instead of using the one that was in the computer and my cards all work fine

I'd throw it away for sure! You don't want to to take some photos and then never be able to retrieve them!!! I've had a few go bad over the years. I shot my daughter's Native American Day at the school and every other file was "corrupt". Made me so sad!!!

Do you have another card reader and another card to use? I tried a different card and it was still acting up then I tried a different card reader and all my cards read fine. That is how I figured out it wasnt the cards messing up. You can eliminate either the card or card reader if you try that

After your post earlier I borrowed my sister's card reader and I'll be trying that in the am (cause I'm too tired now) I hope that's it lol cause it'd be cheaper to buy one of those than buy 2 new 6GB HD cards.

Remember to format your cards often. Someone once told me it was similar to a computer that needed de-fragging.

I just tried the different card reader and that was the quickest my computer ever recognized a card. So I guess I'll be buying a card reader though I'm kinda put out the one on my computer that isn't even a year old is acting messed up.
