Crock Pot Help Needed
Ok, well, so ... last night I made a yummy dinner... BUT I forgot to turn it off when I was done and the leftover sauce turned black and kinda baked into the enamel. NO BUENO! Does anyone have any idea for how I can get rid of it. It soaked with super stuff all day today and its not budging. And if I scrape it at all its going to ruin the enamel and then it will be useless.

Bring vinegar to a boil in the pot, then let it cool. If that doesn't work, try it again and add baking soda to the mix. I hope you can save it!

Do you have any Bar Keepers Friend? It is the best ever on porcelain stains! Non abrasive, works fast. They sell it in powder or liquid. I would buy the powder and make a paste, then smear it all over the crusted on stuff and let it sit a minute or two before scrubbing.

Yummy! Do you put it over rice or on sandwich bread?

Oh! I have made that one before, it is soooo good. I also make something similar:
Orange Chicken 8 boneless skinless chicken thighs ( I've also used 3 skinless boneless breasts) 3 T flour 2/3 c. Orange marmalade 2/3 c. BBQ sauce 2T soy sauce 1 T grated ginger ( or 1/2 tsp. dried) Toss chicken with flour in crock pot, mix remaining ingredients in a bowl and pour over chicken, stir. Cover lid and cook on low 6 hours. |

Oh yum!!! I LOVE really simple crock pot recipes. The simpler the better! The problem is, I never remember to do it in the morning. I'm gonna have to try these ones though - they sound tasty!

LOL. I still consider it easy since I tend to always have those things on hand. If I had to grate the ginger, it wouldn't qualify as 'easy'. But, I buy the little jar of fresh ground ginger and keep it in my fridge. I also don't really measure, tbh. I just sort of eyeball it. It tastes similar to the pineapple/BBQ chicken, but more asian-ish.

Hey Tanyia, I"ve had that recipe pinned forever, and I'm dying to try it (after Jeff's contest, of course). But I haven't been able to find Hawaiian style BBQ sauce. Does that make a difference? Have you done it with just regular sauce?

any sauce will work, it just wont taste the same. The only place you can find that sauce btw is Target, if that helps

Libby, Archer Farms is the Target Brand, have you looked there for it?

I'm thinking I would try Brooks recipe but the coating the chicken in flour thing. However, just this weekend banana flour has become popular here so maybe I will go buy that. I don't think my family would notice. It sounds so good! Thanks for sharing though!

I use coconut flour sometimes, you just use much less... like 1 or 2 tsp. It works well. It just makes the sauce kind of 'stick' to the chicken better.

Brook how "cocunutty" is the flour? I hate cocunut and the taste. Funny cus I love dirty diet cokes!

The ginger, soy & BBQ sauce is enough to overpower any hint of coconut flavor... and, I honestly notice more coconut flavor when I use coconut oil than the flour. Of course, it depends on the recipe & how much you use, but with this one I don't notice it.
