Question How do you blur out faces from your photos?

I'm sure this is an easy thing to do but I wasn't sure how. I watched a couple of You Tube videos that weren't helpful so I thought I would ask. I tried the "blur" tool but nothing really happened so I must be doing something wrong!

Do you mean for just posting online? I just select the face area and apply a blur filter. If it's just for posting a layout online and I don't want to tick a parent off I don't worry about how it looks. As long as the face isn't recognizable.

I used to use the circle marquee and apply a Filter>blur>gaussain blur to the face, but have recently switched to Filter>pixelate>mosaic.

I do the mosaic now too. The blurred faces were starting to creep me out.

I didn't do it this way but now I think I will! I am horrible about blurring my foster son's face. I always just used the smudge tool and hated it every time but didn't know a better way to do it. The good news is that I only have to do this for a couple more weeks and then no longer! WOOT!

I'm off to try these techniques! Thanks ladies!

Tara, I'm so happy for you that your days of blurring him are soon over! Congratulations!

I'm glad you asked this. Whenever I blur a face I think it looks weird and make a mental note to find a better way to do it, but I never do

I use the gaussian blur, so I'll try the mosaic next time. Thanks for the tip!

Thank you! We have had him 3 years and it is finally coming to a close! WAY too long in my opinion. We are signing disclosure on August 15th and should have a court date for judge to sign everything within a couple weeks from that date. So it looks to be by the end of August!

Thanks for your help everybody! It worked!

I had a picture for Project Life of my almost 5 year old boy stopping to go by potty in the middle of nowhere. His little tush is adorable to me but I wasn't sure at what age they would refuse to print it or I'd be arrested for child porn or something terrible!

I've often wanted to blur the faces of kids in photos that I don't have parent permission to put on the internet but I just didn't know how so I wouldn't post them.
