Default pioneer woman...spicy dr. pepper pork

we are having this for supper tonight! I have it in the oven baking as I type. I am excited. It sounds sooo yummy!! has anyone here tried it?

I've never used hers, but I always do my pork butts and roasts in the crockpot with a dark soda and LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it!

I do too Darcy, but this one uses chipotle peppers and dr.pepper so i am anxious to see how it turns out. i am also doing this one in the oven becasue it is cold and NASTY WINDY here today and a good day to stay inside! i decided what the hey, turn the oven on since it is cold...LOL! I will let you know how it comes out

That's similar to the Cafe Rio recipe for pork barbacoa and it's yummy!!

We make Dr Pepper ribs from the Cook This, Not That cookbook...they are a huge favorite around here

I made this yesterday, but put in too many peppers so it was HOT!! Have tons left over today.

i put in half of a 7 oz. can. how many did you put in?? i hope i didn't put in too many

I put in TWO of those cans. It was my own fault, I thought she had a big can in her hand in the picture and the 7 oz cans are tiny, and I had a very large pork butt - bigger than in the recipe, so I put in 2 cans.

I did remove the peppers once I realized how hot it was. You should be OK, but you might want to taste it once it starts getting done and if it's too hot, remove the peppers.

The meat is only hot if you eat it plain. Putting it in tortillas and with cheese, etc. it was fine.

ok, good to know! i love spicy stuff but my little guy doesn't do spicy so well so i normally try to keep it a bit mild for him.

this was really really good. now, on the a different note the malted chocolate chip cookies i tried from her did not turn out so great. i am not sure why but they are completly flat and crunchy no matter how little i cook them. i can make chocolate chip cookies, so i am not impressed with this recipe. don't flame me! it jsut didn't work for me.

i added more flour in the last 1/2 of the batch and it seems to work much better. still irritated tonight though...LOL!

I took some of my leftover pork to a scrapping night tonight and my friends' loved it. The hotness had subsided.
