We have a new family member :)
So about a year ago we had to let our basset hound go to a new home..he was just too much dog for inside my house and was too rough with my then 1 year old. My college-aged cousin was happy to take him and he's now the most spoiledotten basset in the state of MS lol. Plus we get to still see him...anyway...
The past month or so we've been on the lookout for a smaller dog..past the puppy stage that was already house broken etc. Soo...meet Harry  He's a shitzu mix we adopted today and he is PRECIOUS! So calm and soo good with the kids. I'm in love  His hair looks coarse but it's so soft (he will be getting a trim lol) We have him on trial for a few days but after today I'm pretty certain we'll be keeping him.

I have to laugh at those photos...he's not super photogenic, especially with all that crazy hair lol! But he's soo cute and fits right in.
I was a little wary of adopting an adult dog but wow...if you can find one that fits what you want in your family that is the way to go...he came from a family that was having to move and couldn't take him with them...raised around children and already house trained (BIG plus). Puppies are adorable but I never liked training them and that awful chewing puppy stage. Harry is perfect. He's moved and and once he got used to his surroundings it's like he's been here all along. Oh and no puppy whining and keeping us up all night! He rode with me yesterday to pick Avery up from school and of course all the kids ooohed and awed over him and Avery was so proud and said, "that's my dog Harry..he's going to be my best friend" lol
