The trouble of being a megalomaniac
Some of you may have noticed that I have been working on my vacation 2010 photo book for pretty much over a year now. It's not like I've been working on it all the time, I'm in no hurry. But it seems like it might get finished soon (it almost feels weird), so I've taken the pains to estimate the number of pages so that I can decide how to print it.
My estimate runs at 200 pages (a hundred 2-pagers). It was a 5-day vacation. Right. I finally understand why it's taken me this long to make it. This is not meant as bragging (most of you easily do more pages than I do). It's just I have to share with someone who is at least a bit interested in this kind of thing (RL friends don't scrap or do photo books with the exception of Zora). Because. The number of pages is cool in all aspects with the exception of the practical and financial ones. The printing issue seems far from fun - I want it to be printed with lay-flat binding, because the spreads need to be fully seen, and most companies will print a maximum of 76-84 pages with this option. The prices are ouch. So right now it seems that the 5 days will be split into 3 books and it will be expensive as hell. I. Will. Never. Do. This. Again. But the creative process was still fun. :-)

Congrats on the accomplishment, but I'm sorry it's turning out to be a pain to print!

LOL! What a problem to have . . . being so creative that it will break the bank to have it all printed! Can't wait to see the finished product(s)!

Yes, I know. It will costs more euros than it has pages. *headdesk*
Still it WILL be printed, because if anything I made ever deserved to be printed, it's this one. More of a novel than a book really. :-) I hope very much to finish those few pages that are left and do a revision of the journalling through October, and then I can't wait to see it for real.
