Default Need some advice chickas.....kinda gross maybe!!!

OK so I have 2 kids home today with what I though was the stomach flu but there has been no puking.....My oldest said he felt like he was gonna all day on Saturday and so did one of my twins....nothing like that happened but they still have tummy pain and now the oldest has a slight case of, let's call it the runs....the one twin has pooped like 6 times today but not a lot.....Here is the grabber...they are both eating like they usually do!!!

I don't know what to do for either of them at this point except give them Gatorade. Is this a Flu type thing or should I be taking them to see a doctor? This has never happened to them before so I am freaking out a bit, any advice would be great!!!

I think you're doing the right thing. Perhaps something they ate just disagreed with them.

Both of my boys had something like you are desribing a couple of weeks ago. You sound like you are doing the right thing. Let them take it easy and feed them light meals. Hope it all passes quickly and that you don't get it!

If any of them have fever, then call the doctor ASAP

I did call the doctor and she told me to keep them on a bland diet if they want to eat and make sure they keep hydrated....They have NOT had fevers at all but Dylan (the oldest) is now complaining he is cold....may call the doc again. He has been in the bathroom (no details needed there but not puking) like 5 times in the past 3 hours so I don't know now.

I know that sometimes the sugar in gatorade can mak;e the unmentioned gastiric symtoms worse cause of the sugar...but it is a great hydrator.

What else is there to drink though...they say water is not the best and he is way too old for Pedialyte so I don't know what to give him. The Doc told me the Gatorade was fine.

we've just had a gastro bug here where there were no fevers just feeling yucky in the tummy. One of my kids had the runs, another kid vomited once only and the 3rd was fine. They all ate normally too.

How long did it last for your kiddos....they have both been feeling kinda crappy since Saturday. Dylan was doing really well yesterday and Tyler (6 yrs.) was doing pretty well also but today for Dylan was bad. It seems every time he eats...well you get the idea but he is STARVING so I am at a loss with him.

fever with the flu/a cold is natural.

sounds like you are doing everything. Maybe feed them lightly (soups, toast, tea, applesauce) instead of regular food until the GI symptoms ease up.

fluids like water, diet 7up, diet sprite, clear broth will hold them over until the symptoms ease up.

hope they feel better soon!!!

He is gonna try an apple and see what happens....the thing that is so sad is that he feels pretty good otherwise and he eats like a friggin pig on a normal day so it sucks for him to not want to eat cause of the result!!!

I have heard that bananas and apples (even applesauce) have something natural that ummm....makes things less runny. My family had a bug like this last week. Everyone here threw-up a few times, but mostly diarrhea.
