Default So while we wait for the NSD kickoff ...

Who plans to spend at least part of NSD scrapping? Are there any particular photos or events you want to get scrapped? Any album or project you will be working on?

I'm going to be scrapping photos from our visit yesterday to the Chihuly Museum. I'm not quite sure how I want to scrap them yet. Any ideas?

That is SO cool!! Misty! I need you to make a list of the top places you would go if you only had a couple days in seattle (end of august if that makes a difference) and my kiddos are 10 and 5!

Probably not. I'm trying to get some shopping done tonight but the rest of the weekend is pretty full. And Misty, I have no idea how you'd scrap that. Maybe more of a generic, non-themed,
colorful kit.

LOL - they are blown glass sculptures by Dale Chihuly. He has a Garden and Glass Museum in Seattle Center, right next to the Space Needle.

I'm going to a retreat tomorrow, so I have to get ready for that. But I'm trying to use Kristin & Zoe's new stuff before I get to work.

Yeah, I'm waffling between finding something super colorful, or going with neutrals with just a bold, colorful title or something.

I think a black background with a colorful title would be awesome.

I've been scrapping like crazy all day, so tomorrow is for game playing, shopping and maybe a little scrapping.

I plan to scrap! My strategy is usually to shop when the shop goes live, participate in a few of the quicker games and contests, and then scrap as much as family life allows. I'll have more time on Sunday than tomorrow. Over the weekend I'd like to get 1 or 2 PL pages done (I am sooooo behind) and maybe a regular LO or 2 as well.

As for those pictures, I'd do a simple white background with bright, colorful embellishments.

Glass art in a Children's Museum? Is it up high? I was so nervous walking my 5 years old through the museum. Fortunately she was really careful and enthralled by the art.

I have been a scrapping machine today!! I hope to get some more scrapping done tomorrow too...just depends if my 6 year old feels good enough to go to his baseball and soccer games. I am thinking I am staying home with him and the little one tomorrow, which means I can get some scrapping done while hubby is at the 5 year old's games!!!!!!!

Nope, but there are railings all around it. There's a HUGE sculpture in the middle of the spiral staircase. Every time I see it I decide I'm glad I'm not the one who has to dust it. LOL

I'm planning on scrapping tomorrow. This is going to be the first weekend since just after Christmas that I won't be packing, moving, unpacking, or planning for a party so it's going to be the first weekend I've had time to sit and scrap since the year began.

I would love to get a little bit of scrapping done. I've done the bulk of my shopping, now just waiting for SSD and then I should be done. Next task unzipping and organizing everything...ugh!

Oh wow, Misty! The museum looks awesome! We went to the display that they had here this past year at the Botanical Gardens in Dallas, but it was not so awesome as some of those displays!

I actually had planned on scrapping ours like an old-fashioned scrapbook - black paper, photo corners, and just let the images shine! They are too colorful and too interesting to have distractions!

And Misty, I've already "wishlisted" that museum and sent the link on...that's gorgeous. I would also do a neutral background like black and some fontwork to make those pictures pop. Gorgeous!

I would love to be able to see several Chihuly's at once. We have one huge sculpture at an art museum in Orlando that is amazing so to see several would have to be just beautiful.

We have a big Chihuly here in SLC as well. He did it for the Olympics, and it is amazing!! It's in the lobby of Abravanel Hall, which is the home of the Utah Symphony. I've performed there several times and I always get nervous watching people mill around in the lobby by that massive glass sculpture. It is soo beautiful, though!

I hope to scrap this weekend. I don't have anything particular in mind that I'm going to work on, although I'm way behind on my PL pages, and there are sooo many amazing PL style goodies coming out, so . . . I'm probably try to play with some of those.

It's pretty amazing. I think my favorite was the outdoor gardens and the way the sculptures are combine with nature. Very whimsical and at times felt wonderlandish.

Very cool! Do you play an instrument? Sing?

I didn't realize how many places his art is displayed. He's from here and I didn't know a whole lot about him until this week.

I sing. I used to sing a lot, but the kids have slowed me down. I did get to perform there again in March, and it was wonderful to do some serious singing again.

I have work to finish up plus my kids have a fully agenda of sports and church activities, so I won't get to participate as much as I would like, but I will do my best?

I scrapped this while I was waiting and listening in on the Everyday Storyteller chat party.

I just finished shopping and now I'm downloading. I just plan on enjoying tomorrow...maybe I'll even get to scrap some more.

Well, I was able to finish up a couple of pages yesterday and my week 17 for PL this afternoon, but in an ideal world I would have had time to camp out up on the computer and whip out some pages. I was feeling the creative I urge, which doesn't seem to happen as often anymore. Maybe tomorrow it will still be around, and I can be a bad hostess to my brother-in-law who is coming over for dinner. He should be happy I'm cooking, right? No need to stay around nd join the conversation.
