Default So, how was school today?

For so many of us, school started today, and a few of you started last week. How's school going for you so far?

I'm exhausted! I got there at 7:50 this morning and left at 6:40 this evening. I think I'm ready to crash! But, I have to say, I love when the kids come back. I really love working with them. How was every one else's day?

Or some of us started week before last.... and I'm exhausted... and my class has forgotten how to do everything over the summer, so we're starting from scratch. *sigh*

school was great! DD came home very happy although she is now saying that she doesn't want to move to Ohio. But, I am glad that she is happy.

It was nice actually for me too. I was missing her a lot this morning but, it did prompt me to get started back into my routine as well. I actually did all of the chores on my list for the first time in months!

Our school year starts in February in Australia, so we're more than halfway through it. But my DD has been out with chicken pox for almost a week now, and looks like she will be out for the rest of this week...so it's starting to feel liek those long school holidays already.
"Muuuuum, Im bored. I'm hungry. There's nothing to do. She touched me. That's my toy. Muuuuum she looked at me!"
I am sooo ready for her to be spot free so she can go back!

My kids started on Friday so today was day #2. They both had great days - and my kindergartner didn't even want me to walk her in this morning. She decided her sister could handle it. She did have a pee accident today at school - she's been potty-trained since she turned 2 and I swear I don't even remember the last time she wet her pants. *sigh* They were standing in line to check books out in the library and I know she just didn't know what to do. I feel bad for her. Hopefully that's the first and last time that happens at school. :/

My kindergartener started today and looked so sad coming out of school. I was worried it was a bad day, but when I got to her, she said "I don't want to leave!" So I think it was a success!

Mine start tomorrow! I'm excited for my son- off to second grade- "I'm going upstairs" and "I have a cool boy teacher"... it will be a great year. Now for my own classroom, I'm also excited, bt know I'll be TIRED tomorrow....

I LOVE being a teacher though- the kids enthusiasm the first day... now by Thursday, it looks different, but that first day is always great!

well my oldest overslept and missed the bus but he only missed homeroom so it wasnt a big deal. In the past two or three years he missed the bus the first day usually because the bus did not stop to pick him up. He had a good day otherwise. My youngest said it was ok. He conked out by 8:00 which is GREAT because we usually are on him from 9:30 which is his bedtime until 10 sometimes 11:00 to go to sleep. So Im taking from that that today was a very good, busy day for him.

We're in our 4th week of school here. My oldest hates that teachers give homework on weekends, and my youngest is as usual whining over the fact that he has to read and write and do work instead of playing on the computer all day

Ours is Wednesday and Kindergarten next Wednesday. I'm hoping it gets me back into a routine. I miss it with all the stuff in the summer. We met the teachers tonight and they are so excited for school to start. Counting the bedtimes!!

My DD is liking 4th grade okay so far, despite the fact that in her first week, she had to take a test on 31 spelling words! This week, she only has 20 words but also has definitions to learn as well. Sigh...Why do I always feel like I'm back in school too whenever she starts?

School itself seemed fine. We had an early release day for the first day so it was short. This year we are starting out knowing a few friends in the class so it is a lot easier for DS to get settled.

Now getting ready for school was a whole 'nother thing! There was screaming, there was crying, there was whining. Sigh....maybe we'll do better today!

Well, Rachel started last pre-school lastmThursday...she was so excited to go...and when we picked her up, she said "I didn't have fun." Repeatedly. I asked why, and she said, "I didn't get to play bubble soap." Apparently that ruined her day. LOL. Of course by the time we got home, she was saying that she did NOT want to be at home...she wanted to be at school again.

She had a great time on Friday and then again yesterday...and the first thing she told me when she got into the truck yesterday was "Mommy, I played bubble soap!" So all is good here

My kids' first days today went well. My class also had a great first day, but OMG am I TIRED!!!!!!!! I guess I was worried about missing my alarm, so I woke up every hour and a half or so.... that probably didn't help. Going to sleep EARLY tonight (and skipping karate again - boo- but just can't!)
