Default Julia & Julie - LOVED IT!

Gotta say I loved this movie. I do wish the whole thing had been just about Julia, but it was still just a lovely movie!!! Meryl Streep did a wonderful job of the character!

We just got back from seeing it and I loved it too! I made Jeff stop at Barnes & Noble to check out the cookbook - $40 and not very pretty. LOL So I'm holding off on that. For now. But I loved the movie!!

Edit to add: Just found the book online at B&N much cheaper!

Mari - this will be one of those instances when the movie is WAAAAAYY better than the book I was not a big fan of the book, and often skipped a lot of the Julie part to get back to Julia. All the political nonesense is gone (well, 99% of it on Julie's part - it makes sense in Julia's part). The characters just come to life. And watching Meryl be Julia is absolutely wonderful. There's joy in that character that is lovely to see on screen.

I'm not trying to talk you into seeing the movie, but am trying to say don't discount the movie because you've read the book.

Yeah the movie is a comination of Julie Powers' Julie & Julia and Julia Childs' autobiography My Life in France, which is a really excellent read & would make a wonderful movie all on it's own

I think I will probably rent it when it comes out. We don't get to many movies. Lately about all I get to see is Harry Potter or Twilight. lol
