halloween costumes
ok so are you dressing up? have your kids decided?
sam - my youngest - has changed his mind 12 times. adam might just wear the costume he wore last year. he's less concerned with what he dresses up as. more concerned about how much candy he can get! me - well i usually just throw on some black and a witches hat. with all these great halloween kits in the store and more coming soon i might try and convince the little guy to be something that matches the kit! I don't typically dress up... but my 4 year old still doesn't "get" Halloween so, if I ask him what he wants to be... I get whatever he is looking at or thinking about at that time... he did say Shaun the Sheep (his favorite show EVER)... which I can't find a costume in his size and to make one, the sewing pattern is $16! So, I'm going to think of something I want him to be while he doesn't get the whole costume side... hee hee....

Well, my kids are pretty easy so I'm lucky there.
DD(2) will wear the monkey costume she inherited from her cousins. DS (4) will be whatever superhero he decides. We have a few costumes from past years. DS (6) will be a beekeeper. He has a bee suit from helping Daddy with our hive. |

Trying to decide what my rugrats will be... I usually make their costumes (well that's the goal anyways) I'd love them to be a 'theme' unit, at least for now, while I can still swing that, they're little. LOL
The girls said princess, so I'm going to assume that anything with a dress will qualify. hahah

Rachel wants to be a pink spidergirl...and walmart has that costume for 9.82...yay. So if we can afford it (having major issues here right now), that's what she'll be.
Otherwise, she'll have to wear one of her old costumes.

DS (almost 8) is going as Obiwan Kenobi from Star Wars
DS (5) is going to be Curious George DD (2) will be Cinderella We have 1 costume and the other 2 should be here within the next few days. I'm hoping they fit! Costumes always seem to run small so I ordered up from DD's clothing size, but I'm worried it will be too long.

Right now I have a southern belle and a confederate soldier. Who knows what I'll have tomorrow. They have until Monday to decide FOR SURE, b/c that's when I'll order costumes.

Landon wants to be a ninja. I am kind of iffy on it because I would like a theme for him and our 1 year old to go as. I have no idea what Peanut (1 year old) will be. I need to get this figured out soon though because I need to order the costumes! |

We shop early - normally in August. I do everything early, though! This year I will have two gangsters and a flapper. I can't wait to see them We wanted to do this theme last year, but my two year old REFUSED to wear the flapper dress. This year, she's ok with it!

Gunner -6years-wants to be the Optimus Prime Transformer (he's obsessed with Transformers!) and Lydia -2 years- wants to be Jessie from Toy Story. I'm buying my son's but making my daughters. I've always loved to make their costumes, but I'd have no idea how to make a transformer! lol. Jessie is easy- she already has cowgirl boots and a red cowgirl hat.. so I'm attaching a red yarn braid to it, putting a white button up shirt on her and doing the details of the get up with felt. I'm excited!!!
I kinda wanted to dress up this year, but I really hate the thought of trying to buy a costume.. I may just wear the Renaissance gown I made like 4 or 5 years ago. |

I have no idea. Usually we're set on costumes by now but for some reason we're behind this year. Corbin (9) wants to be a go go dancer. She found a cute little dress in some costume catalog we got in the mail and guess who threw the catalog away accidentally? I'm trying to talk Camryn (6) into wearing her Peace Treaty dress complete with the apron and bonnet and Callan (4) into wearing his frontiersman costume but so far they're not going for it.

Zach is going as a soccer player and I'm going as his number one fan. Seriously, I'm going to paint my face with his name and the number I'm putting on his "jersey" and I'm going to have a sign that says "Kick It, Zach!" or something.

Blake is obsessed with Halloween. The ideas he has thrown out to me: werewolf, vampire, ghost, zombie...all I said no to! lol The other night he wanted to do super hero. Tonight he is saying Indiana Jones. So who knows what he'll say tomorrow! But he needs to decide soon so we can figure out the costume.
I do wish he would choose something that would match a kit....

Nicholas is going to be a robot. He picked it back in like March and hasn't changed his mind yet. I love that he picks more general things rather than cartoon characters. I don't dress up cause all adult female costumes are slutty it seems. Yeah, I can't pull that off.

Oh and my back plan if the chef costume doesn't work for me is to be the girl from the Sundrop commercial. I have everything except the red leg warmers (I even have red sneakers).
While I would be more comfortable in this, I know what the party I'm going to is going to be like and I'd rather be a little more sexy.
