Default Scrapping Older Photos

so I wonder for those of you that go back and scrap older photos, how do you save them? Do you have a folder for each year? Other than scrapping Sam's Senior album {which had it's own folder}, I am not really sure how to go about saving my older LO's when I scrap older photos....so tell me how you do it I have come across some really cute older pics, but want to make sure that they kinda get saved in the right place....if that makes sense

I don't scrap chronologically at all, I jump all around. I have folders for each year of Cheyanne's life starting with 2000. I save all finished layouts to that folder and also have a folder at Persnickety for each year so when I upload there they are sorted by year.

I don't have a ton of photos from the first few years of her life (didn't have a digital camera and life was hectic those years so I didn't take many photo) so my hope is to scan the remaining photos I haven't scrapped yet and do a photo book for each year. Once a year is all finished and in its appropriate folder I plan to order the book.

And that was a long answer to a simple question!

I don't scrap chronologically, either. I save my layouts with the date of the photo first, then the title of the layout. They're all saved into one folder on my EHD. That way they show up chronologically on the computer. They're not in my albums chronologically, either, but this was I can find them on the computer more easily.

I store LOs by the year of the photo. If I have multiple printed albums for that year (like a baby or vacation album in addition to the family album) I store the LOs in folders that correspond to each printed album. If I stored LO files by when I scrapped them, I'd never be able to find them later.

I have all of my photos and layouts stored similarly (but not together): divided by year, then month, then big event (if applicable). I keep them this way until I have a year 80%-ish scrapped. At that point, I pull all the layouts into the main year folder and rename them with a three digit number prefix so that they show up in chronological order. I always store my layouts by the year of the picture(s) unless it is a looking back/now and then-type page.

HTH!

All of my layouts are saved in one folder. I save them with the date and then title, so the layout I made with photos taken yesterday is labled "110902 Adore". They are always chronological in my folder that way, and then once I actually have them printed, Persnickety Prints so helpfullly prints the layouts name on the back, so I can always put them in my albums in order without too much fuss.

When I make them web sized for gallery posting, I just use the same title format above and add web to the end... "110902 Adore web"

Once I have printed, I delete the 300 dpi version because Persnickety keeps them backed up, delete the TIF because it's been printed, and then move the web size to my screensaver folder. I love seeing my layouts as my screen saver.

I have a folder for each year and I use the date in my file name. that way they're all saved chronologicly and from the minute I have one year completely finished, I'll have the album printed!
