Default Scuse me while I cry

My 3yo just hacked off her hair. Her incredibly long, gorgeous curly hair.

I know it's just hair, it will grow back etc etc. But I won't lie, I'm heartbroken

A friend of mine has a 3 yr old that did the same thing. She had GORGEOUS blonde curly hair and cut it the one day. She was able to conceal it and it wasn't bad. Then about a week later she really hacked it off. So they had to give her a cute little bob. She's still adorable but I about cried when she told me her daugther cut it.

oh no... I know how you feel. When my oldest was 4 she hacked off her long hair... like nearly to the scalp in some places. I did cry.

DD had hers hacked off at 5 for Locks of Love - not the same as doing it herself I know, but I have to say I was more traumatized than her about cutting it - it was down to her butt and so thick and blonde . I cried but she was excited - LOL. I'm surprised she never tried to do it herself - she was always hacking off her dolls/barbies hair!

When Lexi was about 2 I tried to cut her bangs and really did a mangled job and then I told everyone that she cut it herself! Is that the same thing? LOL!

Seriously though, Bella had beautiful curls and when her hair started growing the curls grew out and I was devestated too. I hope that her hair grows quickly and you feel better soon!

My youngest did that too. She had long, ringlet curls. I cried all the way to the beauty shop and all the way home.

My dd did something like that - on picture day! Well, she didn't cut it, I put in big rollers in her hair - she had long, light blond hair & wanted to give it some bounce. I went to get the hair spray & when i came back, she RIPPED the rollers out w/her hair still attached to them! She had strands of hair only 1 inch in some places. It was all uneven. I did cry. And called my best friend on what to do.

My 5yo cut off his hair - just the top - looked like a reverse mohawk - the night before picture day at school.

*sigh* you're not the only one & it does hurt.

Aw I'd be sad too...but maybe you can get a cute pixie cut or something til it grows back?

When DS was 3 he gave himself a reverse mohawk lol..one bald strip right down the center of his head ...but we just shaved the rest...I don't think it's as traumatic when it's a boy though. Ella's hair is to her mid back already and probably should be trimmed but I can't do it lol

My daughter didn't have a whole lot of hair until she was about 3. I think she did cut some of it off at one point, but while it was upsetting at the moment-OMG, what would the Mom's Club members think!-it not that big a deal. It wasn't the first time, and it wasn't the last! She still trims her own hair and leaves the trimmed hair in her dad's & my bathroom sink, clogging it up...I'm more upset about that!

I got gum in my hair at that age...so I cut it. I thought I was doing my mom a favor! Too bad just days earlier I'd gotten it cut and for the first time it was all one length. That didn't last long...

Oh no! I think most of us feel your pain. Luckily when my DD did this, she didn't cut off too much (A stuffed lion and whale weren't so lucky, however ). You have every right to be sad, but like you said, take heart in the fact that it *will* grow back. {{HUGS}}

You definitely have my sympathy . . . all of us who have been in your shoes can totally identify with the pain you're feeling right now.

Oh no! I think I'd cry. My middle DS has gorgeous curly hair, and a couple of weeks ago we took him for a haircut so he'd look nice for his 5th birthday and all the photos. She cut it WAY too short, so short that it can't curl at all. I almost cried. It'll grow back in a few months, I know, but that doesn't help when I look at all the super-short 5th birthday photos. I hope hers grows in quickly!

Thanks ladies

I'm still shattered this morning, but not crying anymore lol I just couldn't believe it - she has the longest hair, down to her backside, and beautiful ringlets. And now she has bangs and very short hair on the sides. Not exactly a good look lol Luckily she's not fazed by it at all!

Oh no!! My girls were bald for a long time so I know how precious hair can be! I would be heartbroken if either of them cut theirs!
