P&PT Please
Can you guys keep my family in your thoughts and prayers? My cousins went sailing and the boat was supposed to reach Galveston yesterday. One of my cousins promised his wife he'd call as soon as they got there, but the call never came. The Coast Guard are searching, but so far they can't find them.
Everyone here is kind of in panic mode-- no one knows what's happening, other than they're just missing. Pat (one of my cousins) has four young boys, and both of these guys are young (26 and 27). They're really great guys and... this just isn't a situation that you expect when someone goes sailing, especially since they both knew what they were doing. ETA: Just got word that one of the boys' sister (also a cousin, obviously) dropped her kids off with her mom, totally freaking out about everything, took off, and now no one can get ahold of her, either... so... idk.

Not too much to report, other than they've switched to heat seeking cameras when nightfall hit. Emily (Patrick's wife) expected to hear from them as soon as they got there, but didn't. Last she heard from Pat was a text yesterday morning, basically saying "We're finally getting decent wind." Joe had bought the boat, and they were just sailing it back. I know for sure they had plenty of food and water on board, and both of them are good swimmers.
We're all praying they somehow got off track and just lost their path and are okay, but... it's hard not to fear the worst.

Yeah, I was just getting ready to come here and post and someone beat me to it-- my phone was acting up last night and I wasn't by the computer, or I would have posted sooner. They are SAFE! I guess what happened is some nasty waves swept them out too far, and then they couldn't get back in easily. They saw one of the rescue planes fly over, but didn't realize it was looking for them-- in fact, they didn't realize that it made the news at all. They were just trying to get back closer to shore.
They ended up going back to the port that they left from and driving home-- they'll find another way to get the sailboat where they're going. Thanks, everyone, for the prayers!
