Default A moment of silence please

for child sizes I can no longer buy

I went and bought Nathan's Spring and Summer wardrobe today. He is officially 100% in adult clothes now. He'll be 12 in a few months, taller than me, and has bigger feet He's in a men's shoe size 7, a men's S/M shirt and like a 28 or 30 pant. They are hard to find, but he's tall so he needs to length and the kids' sizes like 16/18 don't work as well. And of course, he's at the name brand age so he just wants Hollister and Abercrombie and stuff.

I died a little on the inside today. So did my wallet!

I'm very grateful that my 11 and 13 year old sons aren't brand-concious.

I'm having a hard time realizing that both my boys will be in middle school next year. Where has the time gone?

Oh, goodness! I beg my 5 year old all the time not to grow up any more. He told me today that he told his friends he's not supposed to eat anymore cause his mommy doesn't want him to grow bigger. lol

What a handsome young man! Love the layout, and the fabulous journaling. It's amazing how fast they grow. My son is eight and is still considered small for his age, but when I look at him in relation to the little boy he was, he looks all grown up to me. I love the young man he's becoming, but sometimes I miss the little boy who crawled onto my lap and snuggled. {{{SIGH}}}

Oh gosh I know the feeling my boy is 6 ft (or pretty darn close. I feel like a midget next to him. even with him slouching!! I just hope he starts growing up a little bit more because he has gained a lot of weight in the last year.

My 20 year old is 6'5" and we won't even talk about the size of his feet or his stinky shoes that he doesn't want to give up. At least when they are younger, you get to pick out their clothes and stuff. A 20 year old doesn't care if mom wants him to get a hair cut and shave and put on a nice shirt. lol

I had a similar moment with my oldest daughter a couple weeks ago. My mom bought all 3 of the girls Easter dresses from Gymboree. I had to take my 8 year old back to exchange the size and while we were in the store she says to me "Mom, you know Gymboree is really for LITTLE girls." Oh, okay...sniff..sniff...

Lena - we're that way with Connor - but with a size 10 Man's shoe EEK

It's impossible to find 27/28 pants here and 16/18's are just too short. So I'm going to have to special order 1 pair of jeans to last him the summer LOL. At least we're into shorts wearing season now that I don't have to keep him in a ton of pants, and hopefully he'll put on an inch or two around the waist by fall LOL

((HUGS)) I totally get you on this - totally.

Oh I feel for you Lena! Cheyanne is almost 12 (this summer) and she's never been very big but her legs keep growing -LOL. She's still only 4' 9" but she's outgrowing her size 12 jeans in the legs. Girls 14 are way to big everywhere else so we have discovered that Aeropostale's size 00 short fit perfectly She has long since stopped shopping at the "kids" stores that she used to love - The Children's Place, Gap Kids, etc. Thankfully Aeropostale is pretty cheap though!

I don't like when they grow up either!! In about 2 weeks I'll have two double digit kids in my house!! My soon to be 14 year old is about 3 inches taller then me and we just recently ditched the diapers for my last baby ever!! This has been a rough year on momma so far!!!

I think we all need a big old group hug!!!

My daughter loves to act like I'm a midget. I swear she's going to get her's though because her little sister is like an Amazon child, she's so much bigger than most of the other kids in her grade and she's one of the younger kids. No little ones in our house.
