Laugh or cry!
About a week ago my sister got a call that my Dad's blood pressure dropped and he was on the way to the ER via ambulance. She's in Jamaica and he's in PA! I called my nephew (who my Dad lives with and he knew nothing). Long story short, it was a case of mistaken identity and my Dad was fine. When my nephew called him my Dad was sitting at the airport with his buddies eating a donut! LOL But for a few minutes 5 of us were in a panic until we sorted it out. I never thought to call my Dad. When you're told someone is in am ambulance you don't think to call them!!
Once we all calmed down we had to laugh. My sister asked my father to call her every day at 11 am (to make sure he's alive!). I went out to visit my Dad last weekend and we sent my sister a picture of him as "proof of life." She texted back that we needed to send a picture with something showing today's date! We had a lot of laughs about it! My Dad said that he wished he knew what was going on when my nephew called - he would have answered with a strained voice, acting like he was dying. Not funny Dad! So we're taking the gotta laugh approach to it. Very thankful here, and I'm sure we'll chuckle about this for a long time!

Well that was a terrible prank call! I can only imagine the panic you guys felt. I am sure glad it was nothing and you guys can laugh about it now.
It is hard when you live so far away from your family. My Dad and I had a routine. I called him every morning on my drive to work. He was an earlier riser so it was perfect. We would chat that 20 mins while I drove in. It served a double purpose... I knew he was ok and I also had that time to connect. Oh I did use a headset... so I was hands free. I sure miss those calls. Anywho… glad your emergency was nothing and now you can laugh about the situation.

What a terrible confusion! I do kind of love your dad’s sense of humor. And that he was eating donuts with his friends. He is my kind of people.

Oh my goodness I can't even imagine the horrible things that were running through your head!! I'm so glad he's okay, but how scary in the midst of everything!!!
I love that, after the fact, you can all sit back and laugh about it and for you scrap about it! Glad he's okay. |

It is definitely hard as parents get older. We had 4 months of empty nest before my MIL moved in with us following a mini stroke. Now it's elder care. We dodged a bullet this time with my Dad but I'm sure we will get that call someday....

Glad to read he is ok!
Something like that is NOT to joke about, especially not if you're so far away from eachother. I love your pages though. Beautifully scrapped.

Oh my, if this wasn't a prank call the hospital really made a huge mistake. So happy your father is alright though and I love how you immediatly created layouts about this. The photo of your father with the evidence of the date is great.

So a hospital in Jamaica called your sister? I'm wondering about the family that they should have called. . .
So glad your dad is okay. Love the "proof of life." Too cute!
