Back to work for teachers tomorrow :(

I LOVE teaching but I am SO not ready to go back to work. The kids don't start until the 24th, but I have done nothing (and I mean nothing) to get my room ready. Just not in work mode yet. I know several of my co-workers that have been there all week getting ready, but I think I'd rather stay late than go back to work several days early.
I will miss the daytime chatter in the forums and having more scrap time, but most of all, I will miss having SO much time home with my kids. The good news is, they go to my school too, so at least I'll see them around, but I was getting used to paying SAHM. The first week back is the worst too- at least when the kids come, I have something to look forward to.
Sorry... just had to pop in and say I'll miss you gals while I'm working!

I hear ya! I went back on Wednesday and our kids' first day was on Friday. This was the first year in a long time I wasn't at all ready to go back. I'm still dreading tomorrow morning, too... my class this year is less than fun already. I've already had talking back and smart-alec answers- ON THE FIRST DAY!

All that to say I feel for you!! I hope your day goes fast so you can get home to your kiddos!

Right there with you, Stephanie! I go back tomorrow and the kiddos start next Monday. I have been in off and on the whole summer working in my media center. I just don't feel at all ready because I have so much to do in there before open house at the end of the week. I will miss being able to pop onto the message board here during the day. Maybe I'll just have to do it on my iPhone while I'm choking down my lunch!

Stephanie - I'm sorry for you - but SO HAPPY FOR US! My DD starts Kinder on the 24th!! I'm so excited!! This Friday (the 20th)...we get to meet the teachers.

Oh, and I really hate summer. Does it need to be 100 degrees??

we don't go back until the 1st. but i'm sure the teachers are there already. we have an open house on the 31st.

my dd starts kindy on monday and meet the teacher is thursday! I am sorry and sad for you, but appreciate all you do. Being in the school a few times in the last couple weeks has makes me want to be an elem teacher someday!!

We meet the teacher tonight, and school starts on Thursday. I think at this point I'm more excited than Rachel. I have to admit it's nice being on the parent end instead of the teacher end for once. LOL.

I woke up at midnight with a migraine. I think I'm allergic to going back to work. Do you think I could get disability for that? Ha ha! Kidding of course... hoping the headache goes away and day two is good.

I am in my 2nd week back to school too. Made it through parent night & the 1st week which is what I always find is the hardest. I am hoping to get into a routine soon and I am missing the daytime scrapping & being with my son.

I have to say that although I have my teaching license, I am soooo happy to be subbing only. I have not had my own classroom, as I have been a stay-at-home mom for the last 16 years. I LOVE kids and teaching, but subbing works SO well for me....I can say yes or no! LOL

Me too... My head is KILLING me- not sure if it's work, the heat or the impending fronts coming in... hopefully I'll feel better soon! Got my Meet-the-teacher and supply drop-off tomorrow night and two days of an autism symposium (and after working with my kiddos for 10 years, I could probably lead the workshop on my own anyway)...
