Default Holy Unzipping Batman!

I just unzipped everything I bought over the last couple of days in 3 clicks and 3 minutes!

I had no idea ACDsee even did that until last weeks thread! Ugh, all the time I've wasted! And for those of you with Vista who get the stupid error from things zipped by a Mac, it unzips those with no problems too!

Thats all

Maybe I should look into this. I am going to be here all day, downloading and unzipping. Then I gotta organize. Ugh!

It is so worth it though. I scored on lots of great stuff!

This is how I unzip in ACDSee:

Chose all things I want unzipped (ctrl click)
Right click and choose Extract
A window pops up and asks where to choose to unzip
I chose my folder
Click "OK" and in about 2.5 seconds (depending on how many files you need to unzip) it's all in the folder!!

For those of you who don't have ACDSee (I don't), you can also download a free program called unzipthemall. It also does them all in one click (and FAST too), and even with Vista, I've never had a program with the Mac-zipped files. And best of all... it's free!

I love that ACDSee does this, it's my most favorite feature!

I'll be unzipping and organizing for DAYS too (even with ACDSee)... I REALLY need to purge old scrap stuff (you know the stuff I got before I found SSD) And get a second EHD to back up my stuff...

There's another free program out there that I found out about called Extract Now---you just drag all the files you want to unzip into extract now, and it unzips them all and there are options for what to do with the zip file once it's done (for right now I move them to a folder on my hard drive since I unzip to my EHD) I just need to make sure I have something for a backup till I get everything in Mozy. Extract Now has been a Life Saver!!!

OK, I had no idea ACDSee could do that. LOL! I've been using it since they started marketing towards digi scrappers!

I did know that you could browse what was inside zipped folders which you can't through Windows.

ETA: Can ACDSee zip UP folders? That would make my life so much easier, lol...if I didn't have to go open Explorer to do it before uploading my designs...

What?!?!?! I didn't know ACDSee would do that! I haven't unzipped my goodies from DSD yet so I'm going to give it a try. Woohoo!

Ok, I'm thinking version 9 doesn't do the extracting. I right clicked and I didn't see that.

of course, it can. It's under Create > Create Archive. This is for ACDSee10. But I think 9 does it too.

I like that you can specify not to include hidden files.
