I went and sold some gold and silver jewelry the other day and for the small amount that I had I got $525!!!! WOOT! If you had $500 extra money that you could spent on yourself what would you get?

I would either put it away on a savings account (I usually do that with unexpected money, while my normal income is for spending) or lavishly spend it on something totally useless, like a fancy outfit.

Oh my list is a mile long. LOL

Nook or Kindle
Vitamix
Rosetta Stone Spanish language tutorial program
put the money toward a new computer
new clothes

I could go on all day spending my imaginary $500. LOL

I really want an iPad but see it as just a big Iphone and I already have one of those.

I would REALLY like a new lap top and the $500 could go a long ways towards a new one.

Or I could redecorate my master bedroom. I have this big plan of what I want to do and it includes a new duvet cover, curtains, and paint... Plus some hybrid scrappy stuffs.

Or get a new lens for my DRebel but I wouldnt have a clue as to which one to get. I only have the kit lens (18-55 mm), 50 mm, and a 75-300 mm. I dont really do manual photography right now but would like a little more versatile lense than my 75-300- its just too big and bulky for everyday use.

If I was you, I would probably put it towards a new laptop or the bedroom makeover. I would want something to show for it.

Now if I was just handed $500, I would go update my wardrobe. Seriously. I have not got a new clothes item in a couple of years. I need to get updated in my closet! STAT!

well, I do have CS5 that Im waiting on DH to install.

And my new wardrobe will come in time....I had lapband surgery and am still in the process of losing my weight so it will be a while before I want to get a whole new closet full of clothes!

In talking with DH about the new laptop Im going to have to spend around $1500-$2000 to get a really good laptop that I can scrap on. And I dont want to wait forever to get that money saved up.

So it looks like a new bedroom makeover it is!

If I were you, I'd put it all in an envelope adress it to me and send it straight to Germany. LOL

But hey, if you will get a new wardrobe soon, maybe get yourself one of those fancy cupboard systems, that you can optimise to your heart's desire. Like PAX from Ikea. I'm so getting Pax for our future flat. Not sure BF knows yet.

I would buy Troy new clothes since he really needs shorts. I can pass Troys down to Rachel so that would work for now. Then I would put some into our vacation fund.

I'd buy all the different paint for the walls I dream of in my house and have a painting party! Pinterest is the best for finding amazing wall colors!

That's awesome! I'd either put it towards our one-day Disney trip or get an iPad. We've been wanting one for Noah and we're saving up for it.

Well, I am working extra hours at work right now and all that money will go towards paying off my student loan (the one that is seperate from the rest for some odd reason) and the rest will just go into savings. I am boring. But I might blow $100 on a new tattoo. But I am working a lot of extra hours so $100 isn't much.

If I had the $500 and had to spend it for fun, I would probably get some jewelry. I want a pretty ring. Though ask me tomorrow and I might have a different answer.

Default Laptop!

I have a laptop that I can scrapbook on and I know it didn't cost anywhere near $1500. Closer to $400.

I'd buy a fabulous camera if I had $500, but if someone gave me an iPad, I'd keep it. Like you, I think it's basically an oversized iPhone, but I would love it as an overpriced electronic book reader.

I would definitely put it towards a child-less vacation. I've been dreaming a lot about one of those lately. If there was no hope at all for the vaca, I'd put it towards getting two car seats for my twins. Super boring, but a needed expense that is not cheap...

I would treat myself to a pedicure & new pair of cute shoes or boots. Put part into savings for a lens upgrade, buy a few digi-kits I really want, go on a shopping trip to JoAnns/Micheals I have lots of house projects I'm working on.

Nah, I'm with you. I'm a horrible spender, but when I get some unexpected money, it usually goes on my saving account. :-)

New bedroom sounds great though, I agree.

Love the idea of the bedroom redecorating!

I'd probably go for a new lens or just hoard it away until vacation in July so we'd have some extra spending $.

Bedroom makeover, maybe savings, or something completely and utterly frivolous that you want, but don't really need.

The new bedding set I want from Pottery Barn is going to be about $500, so I'd either go order that, or get an iPad, or get my dh an iPhone (we aren't ready for an upgrade so it would be that amount), or........

Ha! Happened to me today and I applied option b). My old macro lens got sold for 120 EUR... so I spent it on a Brussels lace umbrella, Brussels lace fan and Unplugged by Eric Clapton.
