? 4 the hybrid girsl
Got a silly question for you. The only thing "hybrid" I've done is scrapbook pages. When you use the bracket albums, etc... what kind of sealant works with it? I would imagine you don't just throw the page on there and expect it not to get chipped or ruined. Is Mod Podge good enough or do you need to laminate them?

with my paper projects I've actually never sealed anything. I should if I want it to last forever, lol I've never gotten around to that. But with printed digital papers I use a simple Matte Clear Acrylic Sealer by Plaid that I bought in the craft section of Walmart. it works beautifully on glossy paper!

Hi Amy. It's a personal preference really. I used Modpodge for puzzles because it said fast drying time and it did deliver. I can't wait to see what you do.

I use modge podge to adhere and then put a very thin coat over the top as a sealant.

I've used ModPodge Matte and spray sealers on my projects. I prefer the look and feel of the ModPodge so far.

Just curious about the ModPodge. I did some homeschooling supplies for my son with mod-podge and even when the finish was dry it still had a slightly 'sticky' effect so that the pages stuck together. Have you had that happen?
If I did that project again I would do a two-step process: 1) apply mod-podge 2) spray with a clearn fixative (in the paint aisle of the craft store).

if the environment is humid, the pages can stick together with mod podge.
I'm not sure about using a sealant/fixative over the mod podge. Are they chemically compatible and stable over time? Using the fixative/sealant alone would protect the ink from smudges but it wouldn't do much to keep the paper sealed to the chipboard I wouldn't think. All that to say that I have used both things individually on projects, but never both on the same project. |
