Default December Project anyone??

If I had more time I would get out all my holiday paper scrapbook supplies and create a December Daily paper album (and finish our 2020 album- lol!) But this year if I want to get our December documented it has to be digital. Good thing Traci Reed released an awesome kit-

My goal is to stay current...wish me luck!
size: 6x8
pocket style, of course

I would love to hear anyone else's plan for documenting the Holidays.

I want to do something but not sure how or what to do. My life is pretty mundane and currently the weather is rainy .

The two years I I did a book I really liked it.

This is my 5th year of doing a "Document Your December" project. Since much of my album is actually not related to Christmas I just use kits that work with my photos for the day.

I have used template kits that were created specifically for this and do keep some continuity from day to day by how I do the date.

I have a pretty boring life so really this just documents my daily life with a few days that pertain to the holiday season. I also usually end up with at least 4 days focused on Peyton. LOL

I’m many years behind… but will be doing it again this year. I just need to settle on templates… the hardest part. Haha

I'm doing my usual Countdown to Christmas album this year. It will be 12x12 printed as a softcover 8x8 at Shutterfly. I use a different kit for every story/page. I don't use strictly SSD product so I post my pages (some of them) over in Ali's FB group.

Here are some previous years:
2018

2019 [I haven't created the covers yet]

It's my favorite project of the year & there are lots of new things to include this year so I'm extra-excited.

I had planned to do a Daily December type scrapping project, using a prompt and photos from ANY Christmas (since scrapping Christmas seems the hardest for me to scrap). But, I haven't gotten very far. I figure as long as I keep trying to scrap some Christmas layouts I will call it a win!

There are a few journal and photo prompt lists out that I might help.

That is a great idea! Yep a win if you get any layout scrapped!

Sometime the hardest part is getting started and committing to the supplies you are going to use for the month.

5 years! That is fantastic. I always make this project a priority even though this is a busy time of year.

Your pages are gorgeous Krista! I don't do December albums, but I love the idea. I have a hard enough time getting my weekly pages done though, so that's enough for me. LOL

These are beautiful! I tried this many years ago and got about 5 days in and got off...December is so busy.

Gorgeous pages, Krista!I don't do anything special for December. First, I like having everything from the year together in one book. I don't print my Project Life pages as a separate book either--they go in with everything else. Second, we just don't do enough holiday focused things. Hanukkah is 8 days, and how many layouts about lighting the menorah do we really need? I usually end up doing a handful of layouts (5 to 7?) that capture everything.

Nettio's Holiday Faves was a game changer for me! I pick around 10. I look forward to creating my holiday faves album. I'm usually eagerly making notes about what I want to include. Sometimes something new will pop up and I am all about "Oh, I want to include that in this year's album." I don't feel the pressure of an every day project or not having enough "fun" stuff to include. Some items make it in every year, like decorating gingerbread houses and making hot chocolate. Some are small details like last year I ordered A Christmas Story wrapping paper because it reminded me of my Grammy because she loved watching that movie. I would highly recommend Nettio's Holiday Faves to anyone who might not be up to a daily documenting of December project.

I've had the Shimelle Journal Your Christmas & good intentions since forever... but never made it past day 3 or 5 lol.
But I'd love a set of Christmas pages to put away with the Christmas things & pull out each year at this time...

What are your plans for printing yours? Loose pages or a book?

I will probably print an 8x8 Shutterfly hard bound book.

I had to put DYD scrapping on pause for a few days to scrap some other stuff. That is done and I'm now catching up on DYD. I continued to take my photos each day. Should be able to catch up tomorrow then it should be just keeping up each day.

I did an 8x8 book the first year we did Elf on the Shelf. I've had great intentions of doing it again and ....... I have several years worth of daily photos just waiting!!! I even told myself I'd just swap out the dates and photos and leave the pages relatively the same. Still......... I hate to admit it but I'm secretly so glad this is our last year with the Elf. It's been fun but the when the kids were really little, anything was cool. Now it's just work for me to remember to move him each night and find ANYTHING to pose him doing.
