Default Magazines for kids

Do your kids read any? My son gets the free Lego one but I'm considering getting him Sports Illustrated for kids.

I'd like to get one for my daughter. She in 9 and into all things boy band or the Disney girl stars.

Do your kids have any they enjoy?

American Girl and Discovery Girl are both good for that age range. They arent really celebrity focused but are good for "girl" kinds of topics, friends, personal care, school, etc.

My parents are getting the kids a subscription for their christmas present - Owl for my daughter who is 10 and Chirp for my youngest who is 5 My daughter is much more interested in discovery/science/art rather than anything "girly" so this works for her.

I think they're canadian magazines but they have been around forever and I think they're great <3

Might have to look into lego magazine!

My daughter, starting at age 7, really loved National Geographic for Kids. It's also a gift I love to give to kids that are in 1st to 5th grade. My daughter always looked forward to getting it in the mail and would spend nights reading it cover to cover over and over.

I also second American Girl magazine. I've heard great things from friends about it. My youngest isn't girly enough for it.

She likes American Girl too, so that's a great idea - thanks!

I don't know for sure if they send to Canada, but the Lego magazine subscription is free. My 7 and 10 year old love it.

My son gets the National Geographic Kids, but only because his uncle was still receiving it somehow and outgrew it, but it kept showing up after cancellation, so he just kept giving it to my kiddo, who loves to look at the animals in it. My grandma is buying him a young version of Highlights soon, too.

I skipped magazines with him altogether and started getting him Subscription Boxes tailored to his age range instead-- still getting something every month, but it's usually toys, personal care, and often a book or other item. I felt like it was a good investment for my money and he loves getting them.Bit more expensive, though. :/
