how about a cake decorating kit
icing tips, food color bottles, speading knife, icing bags, eatable pearls, etc.

I'd love that! Also sprinkles.

There could also be two alphas... one could be all frosting-y and drawn on with icing, and the other could be those little decorative alphabet pieces... like this:
