how long does it take you to put a layout together
Just wondering .. how long does it take you to put a layout together from start to finish (on average). Seems to take me about 2 hours .. even if I'm on a roll

Yep, that's my average too. I can (very rarely) get one done in an hour if the mojo is flowing, but usually it's anywhere from 2-4 hours.

Usually around 1 hour (which isn't very often) to around 2 and a half hours, it very rarely takes me a very long time to do a page, with the exception of saving it if I need to go out and then finishing it the next day.

It really depends on the layout for me - anywhere from 1 to 3 hours I would guess. I seldom scrap completely uninterrupted. I have a hard time sitting still for more than an hour before feeling that I need to get up and do something productive; i.e. getting up to do some household chore or even just going outside for a brief walk. I come back and pick up my layout where I left off. I also scrap while I work. I have PSE open and throughout my work day will complete a layout, taking 5 minute breaks from work here and there to work on it. I rarely scrap at night, since I'm usually in bed by 9 and up by 4 or 5.

I'm nott quite sure... I will generally get the structure done quite quickly and then steal minutes here and there to put together. And journaling is a seperate issue... could take minutes could take a few hours. gonna do a page today uniterupted and time myself

Minimum 2 hours here, often 3 to 4 hours... sigh. I'm a slow scrapper!

It used to take me a minimum of 2-3 hours, I thought I was such a slow scrapper. Then I had to get a new laptop when my old one died, and my average is now 1-1.5hrs. I LOVE my laptop

I thought I was a slow scrapper, too, but I usually take 2-4 hours to do a LO. Or days. LOL. It just depends on what's going on around me, usually.

Most of the time it takes me between 30 min to an hour... faster if I'm not using a template.
However hybrid... is all over the board. Most of the time it takes me 2 days to get everything done.

Anything from 30 minutes (very rarely) to 6 hours. Usually maybe 2 - 3 hours, but is *so* depends on what I'm working on and how "right" the LO feels.
Let me add that I don't even think about speed when scrapping. I'm in no hurry. It's a hobby.

I'm pretty slow too. I don't really ever sit and do a page start to finish though. I've had pages take days and a few I've knocked out in less than an hour. I'd say usually 2-4 hours is about averages. If I use a template it definitely takes me longer.

What I've noticed in all speed-themed threads is that most people take 2 hours to make a page. I'd say that this means it's the "normal" speed, not the slow one. Those who manage to make a page under 2 hours are admittedly quick, those who take more are maybe slow (which, IMHO, is totally besides the point and what matters is if you enjoy it and if your pages are good), but 2 hours doesn't seem slow to me considering that it's so common. Just my two cents.

I haven't timed myself before but last night I worked pretty much nonstop from 4-10 and got four layouts done.

I'd put myself in the 2 hour range as well. I can knock a good LO out in an hour but then feel rushed.

SOmetimes I get one done in an hour, often it is 2 hours. I can do one in an hour, if I have no distractions!!!

When I'm actively scrapping, that's me...right now, it can take weeks for me to get through a page.

About 2 hours here, too. Longer when I struggle with it or when I cuddle with it.

an hour or less, usually.

I wish that I scrapped faster. I would say it usually takes 2 to 4 hours but then I always have to check it out more and fiddle with things. Like Marie I rarely have a whole big time block to complete a LO so it is a process that goes on throughout the entire day. If I am journaling then it takes a little longer because I really have to think about what I want to say. I feel better after reading this thread because I have always felt like I am so slow.

Yep - I average around 2 hours as well. But, I rarely do a layout from start to finish in one sitting. So, it usually takes me a whole day to do one page - lots of distractions around here. Yesterday, I did a layout while nursing the baby. So, I was one-handed and mostly left-handed. I was pretty proud of myself.

Normally 30 minutes to 1 hour, if my children are making me crazy & getting into lots of trouble, or I am trying to multi-task, 2-3 hours.

It used to take me average 3-4 hours! But I'm really happy because this year I've sped up a bit. Now it takes me about two hours. But the longest it's taken me to finish a layout in one sitting would be around five hours, lol!

2 hours. Some of my longer ones that have a lot of layers can take me upwards of 8, starting and stopping.

Usually it take me 3-5 hours to scrap a page. Sometimes longer. I wish I could scrap faster, but nope. If you had seen some of my pages, you would probably not think that it took me that long. But it did.

The actually layout (placing photos, papers and elements) maybe 15 to 30 minutes, but it's that shadowing that takes me the longest....probably another hour if I'm not inerupted. But since I scrap with my little kids around it usually takes me from 9AM till noon to get apage done because I'm up and down with them and laundry and cleaning!! But if I'm lucky to scrap after everyone is in bed I'd say it takes me 1.5 to 2 hours to scrap a page.

Two hours is about my average as well. Before reading this thread, I always thought I was super slow, but it sounds like I'm in good company. Yay for being "normal" for a change!

Looks like I'm with the majority on this one. . . it takes me 2 hours. . . or about a day to turn one over. Wish I was faster!

Well, if I could just sit and scrap undisturbed probably an hour or so...but that never ever happens...so between 2-5 hours depending on how much my kids leave me alone. I usually start a layout in the mornings when I'm having my 2nd cup of coffee after taking DS to school and I've done all my morning housework..AND when DD is fairly good at entertaining herself...once she gets bored I manage to sit for maybe 10 minutes at a time and usually don't finish up til her naptime lol.

I'm very slow--around 3-4 hours if I'm scrapping undisturbed after the kids go to sleep. If I try to scrap with them around, it takes much longer! I can't do more than 1 LO a day, and plenty of LOs take me 2 evenings. Even on rare days like iNSD when I can spend most of the day scrapping, I'm lucky to finish 3 LOs.
