Default Little kid's music..

What are your favorite kid's music cds? I am not much of a singer so I never really sang to my girls much. We listen to all kinds of my music but I am beginning to think they are missing out on all those basic kid songs. lol So hook me up!

I don't know if these qualify as 'basic kid songs', but my kids both love They Might Be Giants Here Come the ABC's and Here Come the 123s.

I like those Misty Mentioned. We use LOTS of music in my program at school and for preschool sing-slong silliness, I recommend Greg & Steve and Dr.Jean too.

Trout Fishing In America, They Might be Giants, any Laurie Berkner (from Noggin), John Lithgow, and Peter Paul & Mommy. We never really went for the typical kid songs of kiddie music like nursery rhymes and the typical kid music. These are some of our very favorite.

Raffi and Dr. Jean, although being a pre-K teacher, I'm quite sick of them at this point.

It started last week when we went to the library for story time.. they sang Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes and my girls looked at me like "what are they singing??" I realized that they might be missing out on something! lol

Thanks for the suggestions! I'll check them out!

DS & I love Go Fish, they are a Christian band and sing songs more geared towards kids, but they have some Party like a Preschooler CD's that have your normal kids songs. We have all their CD's and LOVE them

My son has 3 CDs he loves. One is a general theme songs from PlayHouse Disney, 1 is Mickey, Minnie & Goofy singing songs with his name added in (its really cute and his favorite cause they are talking to him) and I just got him a CD of Choo Choo Soul from PlayHouse Disney.

My kids (both the 4 year old and the 16 month old ) are obsessed with Laurie Berkner and Jim Gill. Jim Gill isn't your "typical" kids music. The songs are SO catchy...and fun! Emma actually listened to them last year when she was in preschool.

Funky Mama

She's a friend of mine, and her cd's are fabulous. I don't want to rip my ears off when the kids want to listen to them.

After listening to these, Laurie Berkner, Raffi, and the 150 song cd (because kids are singing too) seem to be the ones my girls like the best. Thanks so much for the links!!
