question to those who sew
I need a new sewing machine. I'll mainly be using it to make quilts. What's your favorite machine out there??

I think Juki is the most well known machine for quilting, but I have a Bernina and it's handled small quilts just fine...

My baby is my Janome. I know they make machines specifically for quilting but they're pretty dang pricey. They have that embroidery computer thing. I have this one, but probably a little older model, and I've used it for several quilts. You have to roll it up as you go but it's doable.

I've always had Janome. Mine is a quilting one which has a great quilting foot. It's never missed a beat in 13 years. The one I had before that my mum still uses. Would be 30 years old.

I have a Janome, a cheaper one with no fancy electronics or anything, but it does the job well. I'm not sure if this is still the case but I know for awhile the quality of Singer had gone down hill. It might be better now.
Whatever you get, look for a walking foot for it. It'll make your life so much easier when you quilt. |
