Angry "Master of the remote control"

Does anyone else deal with this? If there's nothing on TV that both of us want to watch, but something that I want to watch, we end up watching crap and I have to watch my show later. He can't stand to not have the remote in his hand either. He definitely thinks he is the Master of the Remote Control...ugh!!

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to DVR everything just to watch my shows. Half the time he channel surfs ALL NIGHT LONG and we end up watching something like Auction Hunters or Pawn Stars that we've seen a MILLION FREAKING TIMES.

I asked him why that was and he just rolled his eyes at me! I want to watch America's Got Talent that I recorded the other night...it's not like I want him to watch Eat Yourself Sexy or something like that!

I was just about to post something on FB about this...

I'm watching something, DH comes in and changes the channel to something that I do NOT want to watch...and then walks out and plays on his computer in another room. ARRRRRGHHHH!

Um, yes. That's why we have two TV rooms. He has his own home theatre room, and I watch my programmes in the family lounge.

I know what you mean. Tonight there was a show that THREE out of four of us wanted to watch. He was the ONLY one who didn't want to watch it.

Guess who had control of the TV in the living room?

Seriously, if there's 3 of us that want the SAME show, and one that wants something else, shouldn't he have to leave the room and watch elsewhere? It's not like this is our only TV.

When he's at work, we have a majority rules rule... we all agree on a show, and anyone who doesn't agree or has something special they want to watch, can go to another room with a TV and watch their own thing.

But with him, if it's not History or Discovery, it's not worth watching, and most of the time, we're bored to tears.

(I keep telling my best friend I need to marry someone JUST like him, but not him, because he and I can agree on pretty much every show, all the time, no matter how many hours we spend together. I said, "yeah... I'm just going to find someone who is just like you, but not you, so we can agree on things forever.")

We watch those shows. LOL I wouldn't mind if it's those (as long as they aren't repeats)...it's when he searches and searches for something...ANYthing...as long as he doesn't have to watch my shows, which aren't girly or "chick flicky" at all. It'd be nice to not HAVE to watch my shows during the day when he's gone. Forget about seeing any of them on the weekends!

I'm the Remote Master in this house. It's rarely outside of my reach. That said, I'm more than willing to let the boys and/or Andrew watch something that I don't want to watch, so long as it's not in the middle of something I'm watching.

I'm the remote master too, though we're pretty equal. P doesn't care about TV except for a few shows we watch together. He wants to play COD and I'm cool with letting him most of the time and watching my stuff later because then we don't have to watch commercials.

LOL @ Pawn Stars. I told my husband the only reason he turned that one on was he misread what it said but we do like that show. Generally speaking though if I want to watch something I watch it in the bedroom and he watches in the living room. We tend to agree on most shows (with the exception of my obsession with Desperate Housewives and The Hills)

My stepdad did this ALL the time to my Mom! I was like, huh, why even bother lol?

I usually watch what I want. Only because my husband is asleep so early and up to that point nothing is on but news or we're busy getting things ready for the next day. By the time that's all done, he's off to bed.

Same thing in our house... but mostly because at the end of the night when the tv is on and the kids are in bed, I'm usually sitting on the couch with my laptop working. If he's watching something I don't like then I let him know.. he sighs and changes it most of the time. lol But other than that, yeah, he thinks he's the remote master, really, he just does the job of changing the channel for me! hahaha

Default I am so lucky.

Neither of us really watch a lot of TV, but my husband is really good about sharing the remote and also about asking what I'd like to watch. It helps that we like a lot of the same shows and he is NOT a sports fan.

The remote is MINE MINE MINE!!! MMMMWWAAAHHHHAAAA!!

Mostly we like the same stuff anyway so it's not too big of a deal & I let him have it during football season but if there is nothing either of us want to watch then I get to choose what nonsense we veg out to.

I've turned him into a fan of House Hunters & we sit there and critique the homes, the prices, the things people are picky about & their expectations.

He watches what I'm watching if I get their first, but I rarely even HAVE anything to watch because his 800 sci-fi shows prevent me from being able to even DVR anything! lol

Same here! LMAO!!! I'm the BOSS of the remote here.

Luckily for us though, we watch a lot of the same shows. I love sports, and like to watch it, so that solves one of the biggest husband/wife arguments. He HATES The Biggest Loser and stuff like that though LOL

We almost never argue about the remote....day one is my choice, day 2 his...or sort of. And if we really want to see something different I am often the one going to bed early

::squeal!!!:: He is TOO cute. You should scrap this. With the title "Master of the Remotes" or something. I don't know. It's just too cute. I love it.

I probably will if I ever get to scrap consistently again I look at it as "right now I'm making the memories - I'll try and remember em later to scrap"

That's a good mindset to have. Another thing I'll remember when I grow up to be you. I'm still stressing about not having my pregnancy album really started... It's not like I don't have an awesome kit (....yours).
