Default Halloween Costumes

What do you do with your kids Halloween costumes? I have all my sons costumes but I'm thinking I should give them up (except his 1st one). Just curious if people toss them or keep them.

L.J. always uses them for playing afterwards so by they time they don't fit...they are torn up and useless anyway. LOL!

Well, on Rachel's first Halloween, she was only 3 days old, and we put her in a Winnie the Pooh jumper that DH saw and wanted to get...so that's one of the 'special' outfits that's saved (along with 2 or 3 other outfits).

Since then we've gotten rid of:
pink octopus---sold to a lady at mom's work
50s poodle skirt---gave to a friend from HS for her daughter
homemade princess dress---gave to a friend from church

The last two years she was Snow White and Cinderella...those were Disney store dresses, and they still fit, so they are part of her dress-up collection. We'll keep them until she won't fit in them anymore, and then we'll either give them away or take them to a resale/thrift shop.

Well... I was naughty for J's first and second year... since I knew we weren't going trick or treating... I ordered the costumes - took photos of J in them (1st year he was a Hershey Kiss and the second year he was an owl)... and then i sent them back...

The 3rd year and last year - i got the costumes at a rummage sale... a chicken (which J hated) and Mickey Mouse wizard... so I'll resell those. This year I am going to be sewing his costume - either fisherman or golfer... and that I will keep since I'm making them. My mom has saved all my costumes over the year because she made them... but I don't think J would want to be Minnie Mouse... LOL!

If you have a Once upon a child near you - you could see about selling it them...

Since I'm not a sewer, I've never made the costumes, therefore haven't felt too badly about getting rid of them. Like Rebecca said, we haven't trick-or-treated yet, so the costumes really were just to take pictures in. This year, she'll be 3 1/2, so I think we'll probably trick-or-treat, and I've yet to decide what I want to do, costume-wise. I really wish I sewed!

I have all of their infant and 1 year old costumes. After that, we got rid of some and have the ones that they can play dress up in.

The ones that Grandma made, I keep to pass along to nieces or nephews who may want to wear them. The cheap ones I bought at the store I let the kids wear around the house and play in... only after Halloween, of course. lol
