Default Another Elf on the Shelf Question-Kids Age?

So how old are your kids? My son will be 8 in the next month and I wonder if he will be interested. I love the idea but if he wasn't into it I would be totally bummed

mine are 6 and 3 1/2 ... the 6 year old is more into than my younger one ... does your 8 yo still believe in santa? if so, i think he would like it! and if not - you could do it but maybe involve him too (like you and he take turns doing silly things w/ the elf)

My 3 and 7yo love it! Now that it's getting closer to Christmas, they ask at least once a week if I know when "Elfie" is coming back! They can't wait.

Mine are 8 & 10 and this will be the 3rd year Elvin visits. I did ask them a couple weeks ago if they thought Elvin would visit this year and they said they did so he is.

My only one at home anymore is my 15 yo daughter. But she is excited to do it. She loves all the little things I do like this to make our lives fun and make special memories. She's cheesy and sentimental like me I guess. We picked out our elf last night together.
I will still set it up for her everyday just as I would for a little child.

My kids are 8, 6 and 4 and we have a good time with it. We do it differently than most though as we don't do Santa. We still have a great time with it though and the oldest loves it too! Maybe not quite as much as the other two, but he still does a bit!

Kiddo was 4 last Christmas... and he was still a little young to totally get it. Jake is also very skeptical for a 4 year old... he didn't really get as to why the elf would be naughty (and mama let it go)... also some thing he didn't believe that Elfie would do... One of the things I did was change all the wall photos to the Elf. Daddy asked Jake if he found the elf that day... Jake says, "Yes, I did!! But I don't know why mama changed all the picture to be of the Elf, though..."

Kennedy will be 2 in February and I'm still toying with the idea of doing it this year or waiting til next year since I'm not sure she will understand.

When I heard about it for the first time last year my kids were mad at me that we didnt do it too and they are 19, 14, and 11 lol I think I may give everyone a day to do it and trick everyone, they would probably have fun with that!

12 and 8. My 12 year old would help me set up before she went to bed (unless the Elf was bringing a special treat).

My kids are 6 and 10. The oldest was 8 the first year we did it. I say go for it! Mine still both believe wholeheartedly in Santa... then again, so do I.

By Christmas, mine will be 4 & 8. They are both looking forward to ours visiting again - though I swear I see my oldest look at me suspiciously sometimes, lol. Yes - he still believes in all of it, but I expect him to ask any time now But if he does, then I'm loving Sasha's take on it, and maybe I'll have him help me set it up. Not this year probably, but in the next couple years maybe

Luke doesn't believe in Santa but Joel wants to do it anyway. Luke would think its hilarious.

Mine are 8 and 6 and still believe. I haven't convinced myself to do the elf yet.

Mine were 11 and 9 last year and they loved it. I hid him around the house every morning, setting him up in different scenes, and they loved searching for him!

ETA: I should say though that they both thought the book was goofy. We read it once so they'd know the story behind the elf, but we never read it again.
