Bingo with the Babes: January 5th
Sweet Shoppers,
You've had a few days to digest our new challenge format, and we hope you guys are already starting to scrap along with our fun and easy going challenges! Our talented and inspiring Babes wanted to play along with you guys, so each week, you'll want to keep your eyes open for our Bingo with the Babes thread where some of our Babes will share the pages they created for some of this month's challenges along with a little bit about what inspired them and how they approached getting the challenge done! Check out their pages in the posts below and share a page that you're working on for our challenges too! We'd love to see your progress and hear a little bit about what you're shooting for throughout the month so we can oooh and ahhh over how awesome you guys are! Happy Scrapping! Robin

For the challenge, This year I am going to...
I chose this challenge because it is the time of year for thinking about resolutions and goals. I've been wanting to really push my photography lately. So, I'm challenging myself to complete a few photography courses and take more intentional photographs. For this page, I loved how the bokeh element included in the Cheers to the New Year kit tied in with my photography so I clipped it to my paper title. |

I chose the challenge of using at least 30 buttons on my page.
I chose this challenge because I love using elements in a unique and unexpected way. I love combining something artistic with preserving memories. My niece dyed her hair bright red and this page is such a fun tribute to her funky style. Truth be told, I really love buttons.

I chose the top 10 list.
My daughter had given me a list of things she wanted to do these holidays, so it was easy to pop them on a layout for this challenge. Because Christmas for us is in the summer time, I used Meg, Zoe and Christine's Warm Wishes kit. Once I saw all the elements and alphas, I knew I wanted to try and use as many as possible, so instead of doing an actual list, I put each activity on it's own little tag.

Plaids and Polka-dots:
Plaids and polkadots together is a challenge for me. Plaid in particular is not one of my favorite patterns to work with. To make the challenge more for myself - I opted to not go the easy route and use a solid background.

Spin-a-Lift Sugarbabe Alyson Hall:
Alyson is one of my favorite scrappers at SSD. I've always admired her layouts, fantastic layering, and incredible style. It is such a treat browsing through her gallery. It was tough to narrow down which layout to lift - they are all spectacular!

I, too, chose Spin-a-Lift Sugarbabe Alyson Hall:
I was inspired by Aly's page Awesome and flipped it horizontally. Aly's pages are always stunning and unique. I love how she incorporates little details into her pages that make them standout.

Here's my take on the "Then and Now" challenge...
I chose to do this challenge because I love to look back on things and see how they've changed over time. For this page I thought I'd use our engagement photo and one that was just taken a few months ago. My husband thinks we look the same, but to me it looks like he's slimmed down and I've gotten bigger!! Oh well - it's still fun to compare us 10 years later...

Flip a template
I love a good template. There are times that I'm stuck in a scrappy rut and I need a template to get me in the mood. I chose to take a template from Brook's Templates - Trifecta 11 - Three Kings. I rotated it and resized to make it just a bit smaller of a cluster. I love that you can take a template and completely change it up to your liking.

I chose the challenge of making a big title.
Most times I don't add a title because it's not something I feel I need on every page (and, honestly, I just forget sometimes). Every now and then I may use a word art or a journal card as a title. For this page, I decided to use a font and mix up the colors a bit to make this fun and simple title. Last edited by Tronesia; 01-10-2015 at 05:24 AM. |

I did a slightly different take on plaid and polka dots. When I saw Erica's calendar toppers the very first thing I thought of was Doctor Who and the 11th Doctor's bowtie... so of course... I had to make a "bowties are cool" page. I used Ru's Go, Plaid! {paper pack} to fill in the paper spots on the bowtie, and then for a fun spacey starry contrast I added the foil dots all over to create polka dots. My take is a little looser than just using one main plaid and polka dot together, but then I mix patterns like that all of the time. lol

If you are anything like me then you struggle with journaling on your page. The "journal using only word strips" is perfect for people like me. It takes the stress out of figuring out what to write on your page.

These are awesome. I just did a page for 'use an icy color scheme' (or how ever it is worded, already covered my square up with my layout) and I'm getting ready to start a second one.

Gorgeous layouts!
Since no one else has replied yet, I think it means a layout in wintery/icy colors like white, silver, gray, and maybe blue.

I've done a few so far...
Scrap a "bad' photo "Broken crayons still colour" Sparkle & shine Zero embellishments Take & scrap a family portrait Journal using only word strips This last one I interpreted as journalling on strips... let me know if that's not what's meant by 'word strips' and I'll change it.
